As an aside while we're waiting and to totally derail this thread, there are two of their albums - DSOTM and WYWH - that were redone on SACD for surround sound. An interesting listen if you get the chance. I never did buy their quad version of DSOTM when it was released on vinyl.

Edit: Although now that I think about it, it was supposed to be released on vinyl and wasn't which caused some controversy. A good reason not to buy it

It's strange to me that it's not working for him. I have 31,300 songs and just under 3,000 albums (with another CD on the way to be added - woo hoo) so I don't see how it could be related to that. Very curious. After I post my question, I'll read that link.

Okay @twrr , I know you tried sub-directories in the past but currently, you have all your albums in one directory. How many albums in the directory?

OK, great. I see you've got just over 1000 folders; the largest I have is 350. Let me dig up another hard drive and combine everything to see if get the same issue that you're getting. I apologize that it might take some time.

Is that the ifi app? It looks a bit different than mine but mine's on an iPad.

Yes, it is Ifis little modified Volumio. My hdd is connected to ifi with usb hub and i tried to connect one more stick or hdd but it doesnt work.

Cool. So, you've got your drive plugged into a hub and the hub into the ZS? I might not have a hub here; I'll need to root through some boxes to see if I do.

Instead of defensiveness - how about iFi buys more cells, pc's, OS's, network devices, etc. and tests it in-house.

I see the logic in this, but no matter how much hardware we have and how thorough we are in our internal tests, some people will still experience issues. Network devices are tricky in that sense. We're here however reading what the community has to say, so we pass on all the feedback about bugs and help out those in need of assistance. We're not going anywhere

i must use hub with several inputs because i would destroy usb input on ifi long time ago. I can load all files but that is pain in the ass bussines with disconnecting and connecting hdd in a 1/3 of the second and that is not a solution.

No worries, just trying to duplicate what you've got. Is it self-powered? I know I used to have both a few years ago.

@iFi audio , does the ZS work with both self-powered and USB powered hubs?

And I've run into a problem - stopped loading after 131 artists/146 albums/1736 files - much less than what you encountered. Problem fixed - user error on my part. Woo Hoo!!

@iFi audio - another question for you. Where is the internally built directory stored? I'm wondering if there's not enough free space on my hard drive. In the meantime, I'll convert the music to a lossy format and retest.

Well time is a factor, and these issues have been going on since Day 1. Perhaps new thinking, new strategies, and more investment would change the trajectory of issues being reported. It would require more resources, but, the result could be more sales and less people like me that gave up.

I do not know about the question of the Directory, but I will ask for you, I don't think it's internal to the ZS but I don't know for sure
