Is the Zen dac compatible with windows 11 Ver. 22468.1000?
I haven't gotten mine yet, it'll be in my greedy hands on Wednesday.

I can tell you first hand that the 3.2 drivers operate perfectly under windows 11 from the release build up. Sounds just as good as you would expect - no different from Windows 10.Is the Zen dac compatible with windows 11 Ver. 22468.1000?

ifi has yet to re-release the 5.3 drivers that they pulled about 2 months ago.

Nope - I mean the 5.3 drivers for windows that were released and pulled from the downloads site. The drivers allowed for 384 KHz native PCM. Version 3.2 only allows a max 192 kHz over PCM.That's factually correct, yes.
Do you mean the non-MQA firmware?

5.3 was completely missing the firmware upgrade utility. (See precious posts)

Sure. No sense rushing them - notably, the next round of drivers HAS to include firmware upgrade tools. Windows 11 specific support would be handy (if it isn't just slapping a sticker on the driver) and 384 KHz PCM will make it so we can leverage PCM natively to the full extent of Zen DAC v2.OK, now I see it. I'll ask around internally!
Windows 11 specific support would be handy

1) I am suggesting that if there are any specific validation activities that need to be done to ensure that ifi's next driver set is deemed compliant with what Windows deems mandatory to be complaint with Windows 11, that its better the developers ensure its addressed in the next release.
So far no issues, but I also don't know if there are any specifics that are relevant for Windows 11, as I am not a driver developer. Doesn't seem that way, but I don't know for sure. (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/what-s-new-in-driver-development)
2) The current way is fine, but, again, ifi chose to provide NO way in the 5.3 drivers for windows. Then ifi pulled 5.3. We are waiting on the next release that HAS to include the utility to upgrade/change firmware.

I’m not at all worried. Really. In behest of ifi better interests, it looks kinda sloppy to produce updates, have them be incomplete, pull them, and give no update on when or how releases will be brought back. Not to be a hard sell here, but I have not seen a single open request from ifi get answered in this channel - not that ifi has to of course. I have seen lots of “I will get that information…” which is a good sentiment….You worry too much
If Windows 11 creates any specific demands, our R&D will meet them head on I'm sure
If the current way is fine, we're good then, but I'll check where we are with FW5.3
O.K. I'm a believer, the Grado RS1e and the Zen DAC V2 are an arranged marriage of two technologies coming together in sonic bliss...
My Grado's will never be hooked to another dac/amp, they be stuck together
I was thinking I made a mistake for buying the RS1e, I'm glad I didn't act rashly!
So when will see that firmware that supports full MQA decode on DACv1 that was promised? …

Thanks! Grado RS1e are solid cans for their price and we already got feedback that they work nice with ZEN DAC in general. If you'll ever decide to upgrade that system, ZEN CAN would be the way to go.
Don't tempt me...
