This means that your ZEN DAC doesn't need firmware 7.0c to get the GTO. Please use 5.3c instead.

In short, 7.0c = 5.3c.

After listening music on speakers i had a volume knob on 12' and then i connect my grado sr60 and i turn on music... i immediately turn it down but could it have damaged my grado's sr60e? I feel the sound is less alive than before and there's too much trebles. . Or it's only psychological effect?

So its damaged?
I’m only kidding with you. Likely if they still work with no abnormal buzzing or hissing you are probably fine. Just try a variety of music through them and if you are plugged in AC then time of day, “dirty power”, can also impact the sound quality. So late night listening is best. And if still not satisfied, then either find someone local that can test them(might be hard in our COVID environment) or just send them in to the manufacturer. Sorry to hear of your trouble, I hope it works out for you.

Hi,

Got a new Zen DAC today. It sounds alright.

I initially prefer the sound from the Hip DAC though. Snappier and clearer with my Sundaras.

Would I gain more with the ipower/x or the Gemini3.0 with the Zen DAC? Anyone maybe compared?

You would gain something, yes. But these accessories improve what's already there, they won't i.e. change ZEN DAC's sound signature completely.

I'll ask internally about that, but we're aware that there are some issues with gapless playback.
In response to this, are there any updates? I thought I would get used to the short cut-off of about half a second every time I start music, but I've since noticed it also affects Windows sounds. So if I get a notification I will actually only hear the last fraction of the chime. I already tried using the iFi Control Panel to set the latency to the lowest possible, but that changed nothing.

What's your firmware?

But your remark led me to your download page and I've seen 7.0c is already out. I'm gonna update and report back if this fixes the issue.

As a little sidenote, your firmware update process is a little unintuive, I had no idea I had to go all the way into the Program Files folder to find the updater. This would've been neat to have in the Control Panel as well, since I expected it to have everything I need to keep my device updated (or at least show me how to do it).

EDIT:
Alright, no idea what I did but I guess I ruined everything. I misread the serial number on the backside of my device, which happened to be lower than the required one for 7.0 after all. Despite the claim of "No damage will ensure as the incorrect firmware will only fail to upload," the firmware uploaded without issues, but I had to set my sample rate to 44.1KHz or 88.2KHz for some reason, as with others I'd simply get no sound (and the LED would turn from Green to Light Blue).

Furthermore, and this is truly worrisome, the control panel claims there is no longer any device connected:

It is though, and Windows still recognizes it and music can also still be played fine:

Still not showing up after restarting Windows or updating the Windows Drivers, either.

I'm sorta freaked out now... it didn't brick the device and I can at least still enjoy music without issues, but I still got a gut feeling I locked myself out of any further updates by misreading the stupid serial number.

And to add insult to injury, the half-second silence before sound starts is still present.
