I just have the iDAC and iUSB, they are both excellent as well. I can say although iCAN has a better amp section than iDAC, but for me iDAC is good for the one that don't have good dac, idac is powerful enough to drive those below 100 ohm can with less than half of full volume.

iUSB also provide a cleaner and clearer sound, man believe me, way cleaner and better sound quality. Good work iFi!

Hi mrinspire,

On the earmass site you titled your review: "iCAN here comes the new beast"

http://earmass.com/2013/02/08/ifi-audio-ican-here-come-the-new-beast/

I am still figuring out if that beast if a crouching tiger or a hidden dragon, but this beast clearly has the heart of an Iron Lion of Zion!

I am now using it to drive Stax made Micro Seiki MX-1 ESL Headphones and I cannot believe the sound I am hearing.

I wrote more here:

Haha, "I CAN"

You know how I told Vince from iFi when I paired the iDAC/iUSB/iCAN together?

I said :

Between,iDAC is quite good. When I combine three of them, it is like lion with human's brain and eagles' wings.

haha,enjoy the I Can!

Since my main amp broke, my only reference is an O2, which I don't really like in the first place, and it's no contest. It matches superbly with the Sony SA5000.

Agreed, O2 is no contest to iCAN,almost every aspect. Glad that you enjoy your new baby :)

It'll probably be going back to the distributor after my review, but from what I'm hearing, I'll definitely miss it. My only niggle so far (even with the new toy syndrome) is that the treble is a little bit too forward for some headphones, like with the O2, but to a lesser degree. My AKG K271 is absolutely unlistenable with them because the iCan accentuated a point that was already bordering on excessive.

even when the 3d is off?

I haven't turned it on for more than thirty seconds. I'm not the biggest fan of it, but I'll try it again another day.
