iFi Product Launch – nano iUSB3.0 (the 'Baby Bentley' to the micro iUSB3.0)
May 24, 2016 at 9:16 AM Post #76 of 103
Hi guys I just bought the IUSB Nano but I'm having some problems. I bought this device because over here I was hearing some noises when I hooked up my speaker to the USB port and I thought that this device would get rid of the noise but it hasn't. this reminds me of when I owned the idsd Nano it had the same problem but then I bought the idsd micro and no more noise I think it was because it has the ipurifier built-in but with this device does not get rid of the noise would it help if I bought the Gemini cables. The speaker's I'm talking about are Definitive Technology.

Hi,

Best to open a Support Ticket so the tech guys can run through your system and try to track down the source of the noise. They usually give some things to try to narrow down.

Then we can best advise how to remedy.

(No personal info here please!)

Cheers.

Wait, can the iUSB nano output both the 2 USB at the same time, so that it send DATA+POWER and POWER simultaneusly? I'm asking because I'd be using it with a Chord MoJo that need 2 USB, one for Power/Charging the internal battery and the other one for Connection (but it must be a Data+Power Usb connection otherwise it won't work).

Thank you!

Another question, I posted it already on the iUSB 3.0 Micro thread:

Quoting from iFi website about iPurifier 2, iUSB 3.0 Micro and Nano

"Taken directly at the computer’s USB port, EMI noise is typically some 39dB. With the iPurifier in place, this noise drops by some 5dB to 34dB.”

And the iUSB 3.0 Micro IsoEarth lower the ground by another 20dB as said by iFi salesman on the iUSb 3.0 micro thread....

Does anyone know how much is the iUSB 3.0 Nano lowering ground noise if it doesn't have IsoEarth tecnology? Only as much as iPurifier 2 or better?

Do the micro – iUSB3.0  or nano iusb3.0 come with a 9v power supply.

Or do you have to purchase one. If you have to purchase the power supply which one is recommended.

Hi.

Our DC products such as iUSB3.0's, iCan SE etc all come with the iPowers specific to their inputs. So iUSB3.0 is 9V, the 9V iPowers ships with it, SE / iPhono 2 are 15v so 15v iPowers are included etc.

Thanks.

Go here:

http://www.audioallianceinc.com/pages/find-a-dealer

Enter your details and select iFi from the drop down. An answer will come.

(This is the reply you will get from iFi. That's why they have a distributor. One does not buy a dog and then bark oneself when someone comes to the door.)

Has anyone tried employing a nano (or micro) iUSB3.0 between an iphone (w/ camera kit) and a USB dac? I'm thinking about using an i-device as a cheap alternative to a music server in my speaker rig, but obviously a phone is a noisy environment and not an ideal source component. I am hoping that the nano iUSB3.0 might be the cost-effective solution I need to clean up the iphone's digital output.

Im using iphone and ipad connected to iUSB nano and can say the noise floor is drop substantially against my laptop which uses a switching power. The idevice is using its own battery. Theres is a idevice camera kit now with a dedicated power pot .
