Just had a late night session with the iDSD Micro BL getting a coaxial digital signal from my streamer and headphone output through my AK T1p cans. The DAC on the iDSD Micro BL is very very good and isn't shamed by my $5K+ DAC. The emotion of the music came through in spades (qobuz/roon).

I'm impressed.

Hi, I understand there has been some posts on channel imbalance. I recently bought the idsd bl, and noticed that channel imbalance doesn’t clear up until 10 to 10:30 compared to 9 o’clock per below article. This is irrespective of the settings (power, iematch). Would this be considered normal or does the unit seem defective? I like to listen at low volume levels so once I get past channel balance there is not much volume play before it becomes quite loud. This is even with something like Sennheiser HD650. I know I can mitigate this somewhat by using the eco mode and ultra iematch. any comments would be appreciated.

No channel imbalance pass 9 for me, on eco or normal with sony mdr z7. A couple of times i use it on turbo with iem match with jvc sz2000 to clean it a little, but now i just the change the power. Maybe if you try it with another gear or use it on ultra sensitivity

With options (iEMatch, power modes) the product provides you should be able to have a setting which would discard channel imbalance at normal listening level. If this doesn't happen, could you please open up a support ticket at our platform here https://support.ifi-audio.com/ ?

Very cool, thank you. Although as iFi's rep I shouldn't say so, to me iDSD BL in a stereo setup sounds more like a stationary expensive DAC than a small portable can/amp combo. It's been years since it was launched, but even now it's able to surpriseme with something once in a while.

How well does this dac/amp do for TOTL IEMs? I currently have a Mojo and am looking for something different (more neutral, not as warm), and mainly listen to iem's. Comparing this IFI black label to say a Hugo 1st gen ($700 used), is one better than the other? Has anyone heard the Woo WA11 Topaz?

I use one for my IEMs and I think it's great. The IEMatch feature is amazing for killing his and increasing volume control.
