iFi iUSB3.0 launch. Names back in the hat and new #2 Winner! (page 24)
Sep 15, 2015 at 10:05 AM Post #226 of 410

Time to build my iFi stack; should go perfect with my iDSD Micro. Should save clutter too over using multiple other usb solutions.

What is the MSRP and when will this be available?

When is it actually for sale? And what is this "BB Soundplus Amplifier?"

Thanks so much, iFi guys! (and I'm actually in Houston.)

Hi,

If you are in Houston...take a look out the window...a micro iUSB3.0 should blast past.

Seriously, today is the gobal launch date - so should be in stores now.

The Burr-Brown Soundplus is an integral part of the Active Noise Cancellation+ super low-noise circuitry. That is where it has been deployed.

Wow! A true Helicarrier as expected :D

Just one question.

The product page shows the iUSB3.0 as having a 9V power input.

However, the Helicarrier 2 image showed a 12V car/van/boat power input.

Will the iUSB3.0 tolerate both?

Or are you going to surprise us with a 12-13.7V -> 9V Ultra low Noise Converter?

Does this mean the drawing has already happened?

Nope. We gotta collate all the entries - check the answers etc. Give us a few days to crunch through.

Cheers.

I think I love you.

what was the answer to the SKIN name for skunkworks?

Oops. Nearly forgot.

It was of course......that super hot rock goddess Skin of Skunk Anasia because:

1) We are into our tunes (and not just audiophile tracks) and Skunk Anasia tunes are great!
2) Skin can SING
3) Last but not least, Skunk Anasia

Enjoy!

It seems TB had his 3 shredded wheat!

The new iUSB ain't no fussy eater.

The iUSB3.0 handles anything from at least 6V to absolute max 18V.

So it is compatible with notional 12V Battery Systems for Cars (which really are 14.4V and reach even higher voltages under "load-dump").

You need to however feed enough total power to get enough output (no, it does not include an over-unity power system).

For two USB 3.0 Devices that is at least 10 Watt and to support two BC1.2 devices that is 15 Watt, with the included iPower you can support one USB 3.0 device and one BC1.2 Device.

Cheers.

Confirmed with Music Direct: MSRP $399 USD. How that translates to Rupees or Deutsche Marks, I don't know.

Yes, the retail price of the micro iUSB3.0 is US$399 (ex-tax) or Euro455/£325 (incl VAT).

Thanks iFi, I got mine at a store today. Compared to the earlier model, there seems to be a lower noise floor, where details are more fleshed out and with improved dynamics. Is this consistent with your own listening experience? :D
