iFi iUSB3.0 launch. Names back in the hat and new #2 Winner! (page 24)

Range: Micro & Nano
Model: iUSB 3.0

The necessity for the iPower and the inclusion of the active noise canceling seems like a dead give away since the iUSB is a power product. I suppose it could also be a clever misdirection...

Very exciting tech! Have you achieved the almost unthinkable, is the clean power so clean that you can't even measure those levels anymore?

Hi,

To answer your question, you may find itinteresting that that we have reached the 'measurment limit' of the Audio Precision - which is 1uV or 0.0000001V.

The Audio Precision that we use is a US$35k piece of equipment, not the cheaper one!

Rest assured, we are applying this technology across the board.

Hi,

ANC is totally unrelated to AIKIDO. We shall not comment on the details of AIKIDO here, but let's discuss ANC.

SPECTRA and Active Noise Cancellation technologies

No, we are not talking the upcoming Bond movie but the nomenclature is opportune!

Stealth technologies used in the military field fall under two main categories; passive and active.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stealth_technology

  • Passive stealth technologies are based upon deflection and adsorption of the incoming radar from the air defence on the ground. Hence less radar signal is being reflected back to the ground radar.
  • Active stealth technologies are based on active cancellation technology. By sampling and analysing the incoming radar and feeding it back to the hostile radar on the ground defence out of phase, thus cancelling out the returning radar echo.

The French twin-engine, canard delta wing, multi-role fighter aircraft; Dassault Rafale, features an integrated defensive-aid system named SPECTRA, which among others, uses Active stealth technologies.

Active Noise Cancellation / Active Noise Cancellation +

iFi’s Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) and ANC+ systems are inspired by the Dassault Rafale fighter aircraft’s active stealth technology.

ANC/ANC+ detects the AC noise in the system and injects an equal, but opposite polarity noise into the system!  The end result is that the AC noise in the system is all but cancelled out by this opposite noise signal. Just like this:

The difference between ANC and ANC+ is the ultimate level of residual noise physically achievable.  ANC achieves a noise level that is already beyond most so call audiophile “super regulators.”

ANC+ has the lowest noise output currently feasible. It is at the limit of what the Audio Precision can detect.

To lower it even further, one would have to suspend the ANC+ circuit in liquid nitrogen!

This is great news, and I suspected that your new clean power tech would lead to this.

Now if we've gone beyond what can be reasonably measured, what's next???

Way Cool... this is indeed an elaboration being offered on passive-stealth technology, which was the foundation of my guess at the origin of Skin's name back on Post 61!

It all sounds very interesting and promising!

Ouch, that might be a mighty challenger to the UpTone Regen paired to their soon to be released power supply add-on! The only question will be how much better is it?
You guys are keeping up with seriously active and imaginative contenders (mainly Uptone and Schiit at this stage), looks like the market is getting increasingly promising regarding power and signal conditioners!

I did had my eyes on the UpTone Regen but I am going to wait for the new product. I have faith that IFI will have a good product. I have owned IFI products and and used their customer service a few times. IFI is my first choice before looking at others.

Why?  BECAUSE NOBODY ELSE HAS BEEN ABLE TO DO IT YET!   :)
(And because IT'S COOL!)

A TRUE reference benchmark to measure all of our future performances against.  I can't wait.

Skin is an important organ which act as a protection. It protects the inner content from infection.
So I guess skunkworks mascot Skin acts the same as our skin too. Skin protects the content and signal from noise and interference.
