iFi audio's SilentPower Collection: GND Defender, DC Blocker, Nova, and SupaNova!

There's place and time for everything, some products can't be rushed

On a more serious note, we wanted to make a power bar first and move from there.

How do I diagnose in my system if I need one of those dongles?

The product pages do not tell me what is dc on the mains noise, what is ground loop noise, how do I know if I have one or both and how the product solves it. Feels like just “yeah, buy it and it will sound better”.

Some people already know the solution to their noise issues, some do not, and those will not buy two 150 eur plugs just to find out whether they need them.

or can ask those Who developed it

Our R&D team did.

Is it recommended to use the new iFi power cables in conjunction with the PowerStation as they are all employing the Active Noise Cancellation 2 technology? I assume the PowerStation would benefit from using two SupaNova power cables (one from the wall to the PowerStation and one from the PowerStation to a device) instead of the stock power cable that comes with the PowerStation? I am aware I'm asking the manufacturer's advice in regards to their product line-up, but I'm curious if these power products were designed as part of the same ecosystem.

Noise suppression is additive in general, so one can never have enough of it. Having said that, effects provided by our PowerStation and SupaNova will add up.

If your setup connects to a regular power bar, it should benefit from one designed for audio applications. It doesn't have to be ours, but if you'd like to push your setup's performance further, that's a nice way of doing that.

There's a lot of info in the web about ground loops, DC leakage etc., but here's one helpful example:

Can you ask them about the gauge thickness please?
Bueller?

Seems like important info, that I am sure many would like to know. Thanks

Got plenty of stuff running from the PC to various DACs, from the Pi2AES to those, from the Lynx etc etc, then cables from DACs to various amps etc etc.
My main system for headphones is connected to 4 sockets from balanced Airlinks. The Cavalli is not until I get another Airlink, which I have to once my custom amp arrives.
The Lynx from the PC is one offender for Schiit DACs who can get DA BUZZ when outputting to the Cavalli.

Anyway. This little GND fella actually helped my Cavalli and removed the buzz. It absolutely works.

Here's a pic with a ghetto support mod for the cable until I find something else. YES, you definitely need to support your cable if it's a non generic power cable.

So glad it worked for you! Thanks for your feedback and mini review.

Sebastien, I love the look of these... I will contact my rep and see about stocking them :)

Hope your customers like them, sir!

I received the SupaNova cable today from Amazon. I've been experimenting with placement. It seems to be most effective with digital sources in my system. Right now I've got it powering my iDSD Pro via an iPower Elite. It's too early to make substantive observations, but the quieter/blacker background and cleaner transients were readily apparent as soon as I plugged it in.

Before installing the GND did your hum went away when you touched the chassis of the amp? Thanks
