iFi audio ZEN Stream - Streaming elevated to a higher plane

I really think the most solid experience with Ifi Zen Stream is using dedicated 3rd party streaming apps like Roon, HQPlayer or Audirvana
No issues there.
I played Tidal Connect yesterday out of my IPAD and whereas I haven't had issues with finding the Zen Stream I also had connection losses where I needed to re select the device once again and also Tidal crashes.
With the before mentioned apps it's rock solid

yes...quite frustrating that you would need another 3rd party app. this is something IFI should fix if they're advertising tidal connect

@FooFighter I agree completely, it's seems too me the third party streaming apps, especially paid options.

I wonder if those DNS settings that were posted here can help at all? I believe someone referred to them as Google DNS, I believe they were like, 8.8.8 something or other.

I meant to post them in the tips thread but could not find them. At the time they seemed to help some tidal issues.

I still strongly feel this is a Tidal issue as well, in my eyes compared to Spotify connect it's a hot mess.

This is all under the facts of myself really not having these issues.

Thanks

Cheers!!

Again I really believe that Tidal bears some blame in this as well, it's not like they don't do funky things.

As an example, Nott being able to load the Tidal app on to older Android devices, when Spotify and Qobuz are completely loadable.

Cheers!!

that might be more of the fact that they don't want to support multiple versions of android, requiring multiple versions of the software

can the stream be used with another "player" say Mo0de?
I haven't tried but as I read it's UPNP based, so that should work just like Mconnect, etc

Me too,in fact my Roon trial for $2.00 is up this weekend. I decided not to subscribe since Tidal connect is working great for me. I use an S booster power supply with my Zen,and wired Ethernet.

Same decision here. I was using Roon just for Tidal and Tidal Connect yielded better sound to my ears. I'm using IpowerX 12v and wired connection.

Is the LED indicator working for any of y'all? I rarely look but today I realized the indicator is colorless no matter what's passed onto the Stream, e.g., HQplayer upsamples (352.8Khz) or Roon native. Firmware is 2.31.2

Any suggestions on how I might get Mconnect to see the Zen Streamer on my network?
