What does this even mean?! Are you saying Tidal Connect of the ZS sounds bad? That is the only thing I was going to use the ZS for if I bought it.

No I'm saying the Implementation of it sucks, it needs tweaking! Sounds great! But sometimes it hangs on me, stuff like that...

Totally a digital noise, 100%. I have tried a different DAC and had no buzz at all so it can't be the streamer. I'm still thinking this is a Schiit Unison/Tidal Connect issue as others are saying but then again you are not getting this issue with your BF2. And again, I have tried a few different USB cables as well, still get the buzz.

Ok just so everyone can see, I made a brief video that includes @Sean H contribution, that clearly demonstrates that it is Digital Noise.

I apologize to anyone in advance for the quick cuts, and FF segments, but I had to get around the Youtube Copyright Guru's. So after watching this video you will clearly see that I do not have this issue, It does not mean I'm not interested in fixing it so go easy!

I'm seriously on the fence as to what it is, so again watch the video it's unlisted so I'm not making anything on it, lol. And you will also clear note that there is no need to run out and buy expensive crap to throw at this issue, I used every lowend cable I had for it...

I didn't see any comparison with other streamers and especially the USBridge Sig.
The Zen looks great without any modification but the USBridge leaves the choice of distribution (without PCM limitation).

Which other Streamer would you like to compare it to? And yes somewhere in this thread I believe someone commented on the USB Sig, it was a while back.

Just installed a Schiit Pyst cable that came today. Same problem. Monoprice coax expected tomorrow.

Just the USBridge I have which with a Shanti power supply under Gentooplayer gives the best. Not sure if the difference justifies to change ?

Yes that I do not know myself my friend, I only have an Allo Digione and The Spdif out on the Zen does beat that for me for sure!

Nobody has posted here for over two hours, I figured someone needs to post. So, I made a small video illustrating the buzzing sound that happens when I pause a track. I do it twice in this video. Don't mind the small coffee spill on the floor that happened just before I shot this

Again, this is using a USB connection between my ZS and Bifrost 2, it's a Pangea Premier SE cable (tried others, same problem), Tidal Connect stream with the ZS Tidal mode engaged. Using either my phone or desktop app casting Tidal Connect I get the gameshow buzz on pause.

Do you have this noise on both channels or only the Left/Right channel?

Just a heads-up I am working with Bubba on this one and am trying to reproduce it, with no luck yet.

I also sent it to our team, to see if we can get it going some ideas rolling on our end and match our sound.

I'm not saying it's Tidal specifically, but of all the apps and connect things out there Tidal is the one that's given me the most fits! Issues like the app hanging or having to restart the app when using connect, Just yesterday after using connect on Cambridge just to check, I had to pull the power plug on the CXN to get it released. Then somehow it logged me out of all my automatic logins for Tidal! Audirvana and so forth all needed to be signed in again.

And to follow up on this, Bubba had me try using Spotify Connect instead of Tidal Connect, again using the USB connection, and the noise does NOT occur on pause.
