iFi audio xDSD- The Official Thread

No . It's official that there is a 2nd gen xDSD with USB-C (I have one) .. Availability however depends on current stocks at retailers.. Some will already have them, some won't. I'd expect mostly the smaller dealers who tipically order small batches to have them first, larger retailers that keep more stock probably will have to finish their 1st gen stock first before they order new ones. There also is a chance that larger retailers actually do have them, but where they end up being mixed with older stock .. I don't expect Amazon for instance to be able or even willing to manually check for USB-C versions in their warehouses... :)

I just received mine from Amazon UK and got the USB c version.

On a separate note when linking to my OnePlus 6 using Tidal i only get the green audio quality regardless of the quality of track i am listening to. Can anyone confirm whether this is normal or have i missed something?

Android resamples all audio to 16/48. Either stream Tidal through USB audio player pro, or you'll be stuck at 16/48.

I have tried connecting using UAPP with the MQA add on and still no joy
Have to go to USB audio setting and put in bit perfect mode. Also make sure the Tidal setting in UAPP IS hi fi

I remember that ifi Audio put on Youtube a video to show it is possible to get magenta light only using Tidal and nothing else. @iFi audio told here that it would ask its team how, but nothing. Any update @iFi audio ?

I don't like the third app UAPP, the interface is ugly and not as simple as the one in Tidal. I prefer the experience to use the Tidal interface plus the sound from the xDSD, but seems MQA is a no go. @iFi audio so, how is it possible as shown on your video?

FWIW, if anyone is in the market for an xDSD with USB-C, we have it in stock at bloomaudio.com -- I can 100% confirm you will receive the USB-C version. :)
