Anyone else get an issue with tidal where switching between MQA and regular tracks can just break the DAC,i end up having to reset my DAC or computer just to get sound out of it as it cuts out sometimes when i switch between MQA and regular tidal tracks. It can last for about 20 mins where i have to constantly switch off and on and unpair and repair in Bluetooth mode.
It is the same kind of product that most smartphones belong to.
The truth is most DAC/amp don't have user replaceable battery, much like most electronics in the market now. But you can still replace it if you are handy with an soldering iron (or you find someone who is), as it is far easier to put a new battery in xDSD than smartphones.
Oh I didn't know it had a high battery rate failure didn't know that I'll have to keep that in mind.
Both dacs get really good reviews not an easy choice I definitely want something portable if it was desktop I wouldn't have any problem I wouldn't be having this conversation . I want something portable I can take with me that's going to give me the best sound and the best portability.
I know the xdsd has more functions than the Mojo Bluetooth and all that stuff with the Bluetooth is kind of dated on it doesn't have ldac so I mean it's kind of a wash. I don't really use Bluetooth anyways I guess I'll have to order both amp dacs and listen to them side-by-side and choose when I guess is the only real way to do it.
I've currently got xdsd for a short period and its a great dac/amp. Its good when using Bluetooth however connecting it to my phone wired and its excellent. Similar sound signature to its big brother the idsd black micro.

Wired mode should be better, but I'm happy how xDSD sounds via BT. A lot of effort went into this module to make it sound good!

Oh don't get me wrong, the Bluetooth sounds very good, really nice crisp sound with excellent detail but wired it sounds better than rivals such as the Mojo and Fiio offerings.

will it be redundant if I already own an Ifi BL but I need the bluetooth function and much more portable form factor of the xDSD? Is the sound signature too similar? Or should I go with a different one different from Ifi? (Note: I do love the sound of my BL).

Not really redundant. XDsD is more portable and has bluetooth. the iFi Black Label will have more power and be great for home use when you want to do wired.

Have you tried to drive the xDSD with any full size can? I was hoping it can drive my closed back decently (32 ohm Focal Elegia and Aeon flow 2) and it seems to have more power than the mojo. I am planning to use it at my office and out and about mainly. I have been using the BL also mostly at home (along with the Hugo 2).
