...it's S-Balanced 3.5mm headphone out can work as a line output, form where you go to xCAN's 2.5mm input. That way xDSD uses only its DAC, and xCAN works only as a balanced headphone amp.

Just have a question, I've been using the xDSD as a dedicated DAC (line-out to speaker amp) on my desktop setup. A lot of times, I leave it charging and forget to turn off the xDSD over night. So it's practically turned on and charging 24/7. Will it damage the DAC or amp of the unit in anyway? I know using it like this will probably degrade battery life though.

These functions work only in the analogue domain. So if xDSD is connected to the xCAN, you engage these filters only on xCAN to have the mapplied to connected headphones/IEMs and you're good to go.

xDSD has internal circuit that prevents any battery damage and in general keeps it in good condition.

Do I need to do anything Speical for the xDSD to enter Desktop Mode?

E.g Turn the xDSD completely OFF than Plug in the Charging cable to Charge, then Plug the USB into Computer ?

"If you actually have the xDSD permanently attached to USB Power it will enter "Desktop" mode after the first time the battery is charged fully and the unit is turned off. In desktop mode the battery is charged to ~ 70% and kept in maintenance mode."

So I tried charging it fully (till green) separately and then after removing the charger, powered it on, connected to USB of the computer. After this, turned the unit off, while connected to the same USB port. But then the device doesn't get detected. Am I doing something incorrectly?

The unit needs to be powered on to be used. You use it, plugged in. It fully charged while you are using it. You finish listening and then it off. You come back for another session with it still plugged in. You turn it on and it goes into desktop mode. Now, the battery allows itself to delete while plugged in still, and maintains a charge of around 70%

You need to use a charging cable, otherwise the product relies on its battery only.

I'm really sorry to re-ask, but would really want to know how to get this, so that the battery could be preserved, when using over desktop as this is the primary use right now.

Hence, I'm rephrasing my understanding below to enable the desktop mode (as there doesn't seem to be any indication to know whether your XDSD has entered Desktop mode?)

Step 1. Fully charge your XDSD.
Step 2. Then, while still connected to the charging cable, plug in the USB cable to your PC/Laptop for some time, listen to music and then turn it off.
Step 3. And then turn it back on while the USB cable is still plugged in to the PC as well as the charging cable -> This is when it goes into desktop mode, and then the battery will slowly get depleted to 70% and stay there?

Are all the above steps required to get to the desktop mode? (Or can you do step 1 and then directly step 3?)

You're thinking about it too hard. It's automatic. Use it plugged in, let battery stay full. When you're done listening turn it off. When you want to listen again, turn it back on. It's going to be in desktop mode as it's been plugged in the whole time.

The reason I asked was because I was not always on desktop use, but yeah was probably asking for lots of specifics.
I finally figured out how to know when it enters "Desktop Mode" -> so thought I'll put here, for anyone else who checks in later.

Just check the LED below the charge port. If it is in "Desktop Mode" instead of it showing the "White/Green/Red" indicating the charge level, it will be off
