haha Yeah.. but I'd prefer not to have a $3k paperweight. To be honest, I have never heard anything but good things about iFi products, I just don't know why they would offer a bare minimum warranty on such an expensive product. It's not competitive on the market in that respect.
I have both of these latest iFi products and like them very much...BUT
there are other products with BETTER warranties...thats a FACT.
Do these other better warrantied products do all the things iFis does, most do not.
So your getting a iFi product that has many differing capabilities.
Many things, more parts, more selections, MORE possible failure points...so IMO this would be one of the
reasons for them NOT to have a 3 yr warranty...
But even though I know of some folks that have had warranty issues with iFI, they are not mainstream from my view.
And are these swiss army capabiites really needed. Only YOU can answer that.
I bought these 2 devices for certain tech points. The warranty did not influence me in my pruchase.
But when I reviewed them this was a point that should be at least mentioned and it is and has been several times.
Is iFi listening? I think they are...but so far the response from what I have seen is "crickets"...

Well, after just a few days, and no HP use yet (just the HEDD Monitors), it sounds excellent – absolutely rocks. This, with a Schiit Bifrost 2 DAC, compared to the Focal Arche DAC/Amp, is thicker and richer overall. Just a fatter, yet cleaner sound. I'm totally stoked with this as a near-field system. S'pose I'll have to break out the Stellias tomorrow.
Yeah, I agree that it's a concern, but that wouldn't stop me from buying it....particularly with what I'm hearing as I type this (Billy Cobham Drum 'n Voice 3, and only 16-44 rez, rich, thick and detailed). It's all about the sound more than the warranty.
We are listening, but the subject of our warranty was brought up multiple times on this forum and there's nothing much we have to say about it. Thanks!
I hear you, but that would require a different knob or merging it in the digital domain with the product's software, so that it could show volume range on its display. Either way, extra hardware is necessary in both cases.

If I leave it on 24/7, about how long will the tubes last? (I had the standard iFi DSD Pro a while back, and it didn't remember the filter and other settings when I turned it off. Has that issue been solved? If so, then there's no need to leave it on all the time.)
