iFi audio Pro iDSD Signature and Pro iCAN Signature - The Pro range just got better!

Do we yet know why the dmg MacOS files to update the Pro iDSD to firmware 2.15 are not on the ifi web site even though the Windows files are there and have been for a while?

We should have info about that shortly and it should be uploaded.

Anyone ever look inside at the internals of the iFi Pro iCAN Signature? Is there a jumper that can be changed or removed to disable the 4.4mm fixed iematch issue? Obvioulsy this may void the warranty if there are stickers in place or if the unit fails due to messing with the internals but I know that there is the option of doing something similar on a Singxer SA-1 Headphone Amp. I'm no expert so this may not be related to the iFi 4.4mm issue but thought something similar may exist in the iFi Pro iCANN Signature.

Although there is some downtime when you engage different modes, you should be able to cycle between them without any issues. Going from Tube/Tube+ to solid-state shouldn't fail, so can you please let our support team know about this?

Thanks!
Ok will do, thanks

Edit : done.

Do you mean a jumper that would make this output louder? If so, there's no jumper that would do that.

Let me know when the iCan Signature is available in black.

AFAIK we have no plans for such a product, but thanks for letting us know you'd like to see it!

Ok. Thank you. Just a thought about the jumper being an option. Obviously not in this case.

Yes, some manufacturers use jumpers to regulate gain, but the way how our iEMatch integrates inside Pro iDSD's circuit is fixed.

I currently have the ifi Pro iCan signature connected to the Fiio K9 pro as Dac. I am wondering if I buy the Pro idsd signature, how does the tubes work when both iCan and iDsd both have a tube inside? idsd+ican as a stack, does both Tubes turn on? or just the one from iCan turn on? I don't really get how they work as a stack. Thanks for anyone's input

You can select either solid-state or tube output stage in Pro iDSD Signature and Pro iCAN Signature separately. This means that both these products can have tubes engaged, just one of them or none at all. It's all up to you :)

Would you clarify this please. I suppose that iDSD Pro tube mode could be used only in case if iDSD PRO working as preamp. And if iDSD PRO switched to pro fixed mode it works only as DAC

Tubes inside our Pro iDSD work all the time if they're engaged, so they're active both in fixed and variable mode. This mode differs in that it either engages or bypasses volume control, but not Pro iDSD's output stage. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply, I am still wondering how it will sound compared to K9 pro vs idsd signature, tons of local shops sell idsd and ican but difficult to demo either or together. It will definitely look good as a stack for sure.

So I have been spending some quality time with the Pro iCAN Signature and coming from a world of DAPs I must say I am pretty dazzled, having a blast on O-Zone Percussion Group "La Bamba" with DCA Stealth... oh my the realism on the percussions the quick snappy attack and natural decay... on this album I must say I am pretty set on prefering solid state which kind of suprised me. It's so versatile to have SS/Tube/Tube+ mode :)

Also glad I bought the Supanova cable, perfect chain there, happy camper Pro iCAN signature of the very best buy in the past 5 years :heartbeat:

Only thing I am not so convinced by is the 4.4 out even for IEMs, I am not sure iEMatch is not skewing the signature (16ohm Vision Ears Elysium sounds warmer and duller) so I am using the XLR with a 4.4 adapter... maybe helpful for hissing IEMs but I don't have those and it would have been nice to have a 4.4 that where iEMatch can be switched off.

oh so its not just me, I totally believe the 4.4 output sounds different not just lower volume, compared to the 6.35 and XLR outputs. Sounds dull and warm is exactly what i hear with my stellia through 4.4 compared to XLR. Hmmm

Pro iCAN's 4.4mm headphone out features in-built iEMatch that siginficantly lowers its gain, so some headphones might be happier upon connecting them to the product's XLR output.

How much power do you think iCan Signature can output on XLR balanced for LCD5 @ 14ohms?
