Has anyone tried using Western Electric 470a on pro idsd?
Also if anyone has an idea on sound difference between Western Electric 396a vs 470a?
Hi thanks for your feedback.Never heard of WE407a tubes, but I can highly recommend the WE396a!
Also the Sylvania Gold, which I have installed in the Pro iDSD.
I think this is really hard to find nowBendix is touch better.
Mind telling me what exact sylvania tube model?
That is exactly why I love them soI really love sylvania sound which is Sylvania GB 5654 on my previous tube amp. It is warm but still with airy top end.
Is it something like that also on the model which is compatible with Pro Idsd?
The Bendix are more detailed, but sound almost solid state to me as a result.Bendix is touch better.
I bought the original version of the ifi Pro iDSD several years ago. I did one firmware update which now allows it to play MQA (which now shows on the display). I bought my first DSD512 album by Patricia Barber (Clique) recently, and it has never played it properly. It skips repeatedly and often just stops playing altogether. I am using Roon as the playback app. I thought that the ifi could play up to DSD1024 right out of the gate, without firmware updates or any tinkering. But at least on my unit, that doesn't appear to be the case. Can somebody tell me if: 1. There is a way to arrange the settings on the unit that will allow it to play DSD512 files; or 2. There is a newer firmware update that will allow it to play DSD 512 and 1024? I am really confused and don't know how to understand this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for feedback!Sylviana Gold Brand GE5670.
But they are unfortunately very hard to find in these times.
That is exactly why I love them so
Yes, see my answer above
I have installed them in the iDSD.

I still have a pair at home, had them installed in the iDSD for a while.
The first time I had the iDSD new, I spent a fortune on tubes....
Please take a look at the manual page six here: https://ifi-audio.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Pro_iDSD_Manual.pdf
Pro iDSD should natively process DSD512 streams and to engage DSD1024 playback (upsamplig incoming data to DSD1024) please use the filter selector knob.
Just to clarify, when you play that album by Patricia Barber, your Pro iDSD's display shows DSD512?

Hope I can still find sylvania. How much did you bought them if you don't mind?
I generally leave it set to upsampled to 768khz via the GTO filter. Is that causing it to be in conflict when reading DSD512 files? I’m obviously doing something wrong since it’s natively supposed to read those DSD files. Any thoughts or guidance? This is DSD256.
DSD512 is shown as 22Mhz.
Oh, I’m not sure, think about 150€ , but they are worth every cent.
My iFi DAC is showing it as DSD256c, but Roon is clearly showing it at DSD512. How do I fix that? This is DSD256.

Have you set up the iDSD correctly in Roon?My iFi DAC is showing it as DSD256c, but Roon is clearly showing it at DSD512. How do I fix that?
