I think I'm going to do the same test as you did. I haven't searched the TAD site yet, but if you have posted the ref of those babies.. I'll find them:wink:

Just to clarify, are you after these WE tubes as well?

Yup, I would like to really hear how they would impact the sound with my TH900MK2. Now that I have my ifi Go bar Gold back with me, I'm going to make a cross listening session with my TH900MK2 and my Alambic Ears Noosa custom mould IEM :)

As we've said before, we like our GE JAN 5670 tubes a lot, but we consider these WE tubes as a worthy upgrade, so you should have lots of fun with them. And thanks for having our Pro machine and GOld Bar too. We also thoroughly enjoy Fostex TH900KM2 and we think that these cans work great with our stuff in general :)

I bought the IFI PRO iDSD but the 2.5mm balanced headphone jack only works on right channel. It feels flimsy too, like its not fully secure.
Can it be lose and needs fixing?

@iFi audio sorry not sure if this is the right thread for the question on the Zen stream.

I know that with a wiim pro, you can use a toslink to usb adapter to connect to the usb port of a windows pc and windows will recognize the wiim pro as a mic input.

Can I connect the zen stream usb output into a windows pc usb port?

Thanks

Just to clarify, you'd like to do that to use your PC's sound card as the output device for ZEN Stream?

If you have only one channel active, that socket needs fixing. Are you by any chance able to use a different 2.5mm jack and see whether the issue is still present? Thanks!

Hi ifi I think I kinda figure out what I need to do but yes, essentially I can just use the spdif coax out to my pc sound card. I just don’t know if usb would work as well

If it's an internal card, this would depend on whether it has USB drivers to communicate with our streamer.

Question: Now that my new tubes (WE 396A) work brilliantly, I have started to used the iDSD as a preamp to either the iCAN or the V222. However, when I turn the iDSD on while it is in tube+ mode, there is an audible clicking until I turn the volume on the iDSD down a bit. The after a while - maybe when everything is warm - I can turn up the volume on the iDSD again. But only to a certain level, then the clicking starts again. It doesn't really bother me, but just want to check whether this is a "normal" behaviour. (With the stock GE tubes, this didn't occur). Thanks

I always have the pro idsd dac at fixed volume and use a separate preamp, no issues for me.

It´s the same clicking noise as switching from ss to tube mode f.e. from the iDSD unit itself? If both amps are connected simultaneously, disconnect one of the amps, clicking should be away, right?

As per @dericchan1's post, you want to bypas your Pro iDSD's volume control and use this product only as a DAC for Pro iCAN that already has its own volume control. Hope this helps, thanks!
