I myself had some difficulties, so maybe we can work through this together...I a struggling to understand the iFi Nexus app. It might very well be something very obvious that I have missed of course.
So I have paired the Valkyrie with my iPhone using the Nexus App. I have to do it using Bluetooth not WiFi because WiFi won’t work. Sometimes the Bluetooth pairing doesn’t work and I have to relaunch the app and start again. But I have to go through the pairing process every time to use the app, and then I cannot see how to do anything with the app.
I am going through the process now to demonstrate here in text what happens.
1. I launch the app.
2. I have a screen, “CONNECT BLUETOOTH” with button at bottom that says “Start”. Below that is the number 1.6.0.
3. Having clicked the “Start” button I am asked to “Choose a way to start” and there are two buttons with symbols for WiFi and Bluetooth.
4. Having clicked on the Bluetooth button because I know WiFi doesn’t work with this for some unknown reason there is a big list of devices and I pick iFi Audio Lossless.
5. Now I have a dark screen “Valkyrie” with a picture of a Valkyrie. There are two buttons, one is to disconnect the other has the Bluetooth symbol.
6. Clicking on the Bluetooth button now I have a white screen with “iFi Lossless Audio”, there is the address for the device, I guess, with a long number, then Firmware version with is: 1.66”(2024-12-25,10.23.41)”. Below that it says “Connected”. At the bottom there are three buttons, one is for settings, one is for firmware, one is to disconnect.
7. The “Settings” button takes me to a screen with “Codec”, “Bluetooth Name” and “Factory Reset”. Each of these does what I would expect.
8. The Firmware button takes me to a screen with that current firmware version of Bluetooth again and the “Current Firmware Name” for what I guess is the device, that name is iFi_BT2. There are two buttons the first is “Choose the Firmware on Phone”, clicking on that I am told “The list is empty”, I click on the second button “Choose available Firmware Online” and I am told “No available firmwares”. If the firmware on the device is up to date then all that makes sense.
9. Well that’s it. There is nothing else I can do.
On the Valkyrie screen there is a red icon at top right beside the battery icon with an “N”. I guess this is for “Nexus”, but should the icon be red?

Current firmware is 1.57What version are you currently on, and updating the Valkyrie to?
Best to try any updates with the unit plugged into mains power for best results.
Cheers!!
Thank you Mr BubbaHyde for your quick response.I myself had some difficulties, so maybe we can work through this together...
First of all, have you created an account for Nexis? This should be done first...
In order to use the Nexis WIFI/Super remote feature you must be on a 2.4 ghz network for setup. I had a MESH system here and had to disable the 5 ghz band, this is a must.
If you would like to PM me, we can take it step by step...
Cheers!!

Thanks for the tips, much appreciated! From my experience with the update, I will provide things that I found helpful to get update to work:
- Valkyrie cannot be in Bluetooth mode
- Valkyrie needs to be setup from Android/iPhone in the wireless method (top option). You will know it is setup correctly when the Nexis "N" icon next to the battery should be white and solid (not blinking). It seemed to like the setup and it sticking with the Android app (which is on a .2 release later than iPhone today).
- Once the "N" was solidly showing, I was actually able to push the update via iPhone with no issues.
- After the update, I had to setup wireless again.
- It worked on my Eero mesh system without me creating a separate network. It acted like it didn't want to cause phones were on 6Ghz but it still allowed me to get setup. This issues very much look related to the Nexis app and limitations on how it was written.
