I am not using wi-fi, only ethernet optical connection and with fixed IP it is quite stable with automatic it restarts every few minutes. (FW 2.16.6)
Ok, so for you, the Roon issue is not fixed though, is that correct?

You are still getting dropouts using it.

If I am wrong my apologies, I may have mixed you up, lol

Cheers!!

Yes, I still have the issue with roon dropouts.
Neo is working more stable when set to fixed IP.
OK thank you for reporting this as most have said it was resolved for them, myself included.

Where is your Roon Core?

Computer, Rock,?

Cheers!!

I have always used the optical ethernet with a fixed ip with no problems. It’s the WiFi and AirPlay that does not work.
Yes, I did myself as well, I just remembered that when I did the new firmware I had to do the Hotspot method or that stuff wasn't working.

Since that was completed I have had no problem with either, and I am no fan of the Hotspot method, lol

Cheers!!

Please try not to feel abandoned! iFi is certainly not doing that.

As I said quite a while ago in this thread my speculation was that something had changed in Roon especially after the New Roon came out, that may have been contributing to the dropout issue.

I have also been working behind the scenes and on here to point out possible solutions to some of these issues. I have pointed out very inexpensive ethernet switches, and cables that had helped reduce the dropouts I was having to almost inaudible. Now this does not mean by any means that all issues were solved, however, it does strongly indicate that there was more at hand here than just a simple firmware fix was going to solve.

I can tell you I spent many hours in my studio recording clips directly from various streaming services from the NEO directly to a WAV file and sending them off for analysis.

So while I may not be able to speak at times about things that are happening, please rest assured that I do read and try to make the NEO a better experience.

With what I did here and whatever Roon did with the last update I personally am not getting any dropouts and if I am I am not hearing them like we all did in the past. That's not speaking for iFi that's me giving you my current evaluation.

But again please don't feel abandoned, because we are not.

Cheers!!

Bubba

So.......nearly 5 months since I first encountered the ongoing issue of Airplay not working on my NS after a firmware update, I see there has been no further firmware updates in that time.

I'd like to thank iFi for conditioning me to have the patience of a Saint

I don't have anything "set-in-stone" but I know updates are coming.

Do you remember which firmware "was working"?

Cheers!!

Airplay worked flawlessly until I updated the firmware to 2.16.06. It still connected fine and played but there was no sound. Approx. 1 out of every 10-15 connection attempts actually works.

I rolled back to the previous firmware but the issue now persisted.

I have tried connecting and disconnecting cables, soft and hard re-boots etc. but with no luck.

I had same problems with airplay on firmware 2.16.06, but after hard reset, the firmware was downgraded to the first one and now it works fine. I made reset 2 times.
