You’re going to have to experiment, see what location gives you the best audio and/or video improvement combo. It’d be simpler if you had a couple to be honest. If you had two my recommendation would be one pre switch (plugged into switch on router side) and one on port of switch to fire cube or plugged directly into Cube.

Actually if you just had one I’d say try it in the first position I describe. Main thing is to experiment see what you see, hear what you hear, whatever you prefer is best.
Yes, I have two. One on the switch port where the router cable is, and the other on the back of the Fire Cube.

I also have two HDMI iSilencer, one on my receiver and the other on the tv.

Let's see how this combo works!

Nice one. Will be interested to hear how you get on with the HDMI iSilencer, I use their s/pdif ipurifier2 on Toslink from my TV to very good effect.

I can tell you now. With the HDMI devices I notice clear improvements in the sound. In terms of PQ, I see colors more vibrant, like more contrast, blacks seem more uniform.

Audio improvements are more noticeable than picture ones in my case (there are too).

Update:

Now that I had more time to test my combo of LAN and HDMI iSilencers I can tell for sure that the picture quality also changed noticeably. I can confirm this after watching SDR and HDR content.

I'm very surprised. I was convinced that I was already getting the best possible picture and sound quality from my devices.

We are so happy that these devices have made a difference for you, and appreciate all the feedback you are giving on them!

Very interesting-Going to try the HDMI isilencer on my video set-up which is not 4K.

Happy Holidays! To all!
Looking forward to your thoughts! Happy Holidays as well!

Hello @iFi audio. Can you please confirm if the iSilencer is designed to be always on? I have them on my VRROOM which is always on, and that makes the iSilencers to be on all the time. If this can cause issues, I can consider placing them in a different location.

This is for the HDMI iSilencer. For some reason I cannot post in the corresponding forum.

To my knowledge, this should not be an issue, as these products were designed this way.

Cheers!!

Why can't I find this product from your new website anymore?

When I google this product, the first hit is this link: https://ifi-audio.com/products/lan-isilencer/

But it just takes you to the front page. When you browse for products, this one and many others are missing.

Try here: https://www.silentpower.tech/
All conditioning and filtering products are now branded SilentPower.
Thanks for pointing this out, there was a period of time that they crossed over but now, as you point out this appears to have completely separated.

Cheers!!

Good morning everyone.
I have an extreme usb and lan filtering solution. I will limit myself to describing the results achieved thanks to the lan treatment. I have an Etheregen with afterdark clock, a Muon pro, an eno2, an Ansuz d3 switch, an intona poesy, a lan pro silencer, two cad ethernet control, a pink faun lan and about 16 standard lan silencers all connected in cascade. I know that for many it may seem crazy but all this has had an impact on the sound reproduction. The first thing I recommend you try is to buy the lan silencers in pairs of two pieces. They should be inserted at the beginning and at the end of each lan cable. You can experiment on where but always placing them throughout the chain improves the experience on the most important aspect for me, that is the order of the soundstage with a superior focus. The next step is to double the lan silencer so two on each side. It is expensive but given the cost of certain lan filters for me perhaps it was better to find out before. The good thing is that experimenting is cheap, buying lan silencers in pairs of two is easier to detect a change and once you get to a point where you no longer feel a good cost-benefit ratio you can stop or return the products.

Important note for the lan chain. Avoid linear power supplies. Better quality switching. In linears up to 1000e I noticed wider but blurred scenes with little matter and focus compared to switching.
