This V3.2 driver update contains improvements and bug fixes, including:

• Improvements

  • i. New ‘automatic’ buffer setting that ensures the buffer is always correct (important for high sample rates). Optimal buffer size is no longer set by
‘trial and error’ and the sound is always the best.

Further, the maximum buffer setting was previously 8192 but now can go as high as 32,768 samples (0.74 sec ASIO Buffer @ 44.1kHz). This can help
reduce disk activity and can making audio streaming more resilient if the PC has multiple uses.

ii.Fixed: Implemented larger number of Buffers to resolve ‘not enough buffers for this sample rate Error’

iii.Fixed: ASIO DSD Driver behaviour adjusted to improve compatibility with DAW Software.
This driver update contains new features, improvements and bug fixes, including:

* Fix: Improve Windows 8/8.1/10 compatibility. Note: Windows XP is no longer supported.

Can new driver v3.2 used on iOne and how to uninstall the old driver? Thx.

Yes, it can and should be used. Older drivers since V2.0 will uninstall automatically. Anyone using driver version 1.X needs to manually uninstall it.

I have been using the iOne as HQPlayer NAA (Network Audio Adapter) on a RPi3.
Everything works fine except when I start an a allbum, I get a loud click/clark noise (I does not do it between tracks).
When I ask Signalyst if there is a fix, below is his reply.

Per Signalyst,
DAC is supposed to do that, only DAC can control it's output mute relay/transistor. But some DACs have decided to omit such for one reason or another. And that makes the switching noisy...

Our iONE implements correct muting (using a shunt circuit that is out of the signal path when unmuted). Please try using a different source and see if you get the same clicks, if not it is source related.

Source is another album or another app?

It happens on all albums.

It does not happen using HQPlayer when the DAC is connected to the USB port of the laptop.
It only happens when using HQPlayer NAA which is when the DAC is connected to the RPi3 which in turns connect to the local lan.
I suspect it is latency related (i.e., USB vs LAN) and caused the DAC not able to decode the first ms of the song and caused the loud sound.
Having said that, both the laptop & RPi3 are on the same router and LAN traffic is light.

In the sense of your issue (a DAC making noise when changing tracks), the source for your DAC is whatever in front of it., e.g. a laptop or in your case a Raspbery Pi.

After i updated to the 3.2 driver, whenever i start playing from iOne there is a constant stutter. If i stop and start playback again everything runs smoothly till i restart the PC. Is anyone else experiencing this. I am on an assembled Windows 10 PC.

In your case, please use our Support Ticket Platform, to be found here: http://support.ifi-audio.com

There shouldn't be any problem to plug (and play) either of your DACs. Software settings in playback programs may need some adjustments, though. Especially with WASAPI as Windows identifies each DAC as a separate device.
