iFi Audio iOne official thread - There can be only one!

It did improve after I changed the buffer from to 500ms from the recommended 50ms but I can still hear clicks/pops , static and I can feel it is not smooth.
The songs are on my SSD drive so there shouldnt be a problem.

Not sure what you set where, but it is not what you need to set correctly.

You must set the streaming & buffer settings correctly in the iFi driver control panel. Recommended setting is maximum buffers and reliable for streaming, if running at > 192khz sample rates.

The recommmended buffering is 50ms and the max I can set is 500ms which I did followed the instruction.
As said, it improved a bit for 1xDSD but is is not smooth and I can hear click/pop & drops out.

This is NOT the buffer/streaming setting in the iFi driver control panel, which you need to check and set correctly.

It should like this with the latest driver:

Had done that yesterday (actually found this option by accident before you posted your reply). 2x DSD native is not as smooth as 2x DSD DoP. 4x DSD native is not listenable.

JR 23 is like a beta.
Fyi, the support doc from iFi is like for JR 20 or something.

TBH I dont think the problem is at my end because it is a business grade laptop (instead of a PC with different components) and my win just being freshly installed about 1 month ago and I dont have much installed on it (office, videolan, powerdvd, JR, dropbx, Evernote and that's about all).

I know what you mean. I wish i could be of further assistance but alas my so called knowledge ends here. I would suggest you try it on a different PC just to be sure. Don't you think so?

I dont have any other PC. My laptop is only 6 months old with 6gen i5 and 12G RAM with latest win10. It is not like I have a crappy machine.

Its not about a crappy machine. It's just incompatibility at the worst. However i dont see any reason for this to be happening. Maybe you should open a support ticket. I am feeding the iOne from a Macbook Air and it works great with that too. Haven't tested DSD though.

If the name of your CPU is something like i5-6200U, then it is a low voltage CPU, so the problem might be on your end...

Also, use Foobar, it is a free software, and it is generally much less hassle than any other softwar, at least at first.
