Need to spotlight search “MIDI”. That app will let you change output bit rate on macOS.

Does this look right for upsampling with the Diablo through roon? Was curious to try out upsampling.

Yes after some additional googling i have found this option. but it seems it sets specific bitrate as default and is not able to flexibly manage output bitrate according to bitrate of song played. seems to be mac os limitation not diablo’s. I think apple music app update is needed allowing it to recognize external dac and send correct bitrate info directly to it. Roon and Tidal app are well able to do this on MacOS.Need to spotlight search “MIDI”. That app will let you change output bit rate on macOS.

I never get a white LED with UAPP not with local 192 Khz flac files, not in Qobuz with 192 KHz and certainly not in Tidal.
Most times I get yellow (44/48KHz).
What should trust more what is played, diablo or UAPP?

What does UAPP show here?

USB DAC 44.1 kHz FLAC: 44.1 kHz 16bit 784Kbps
Diablo LED is green (=MQA)
Diablo LED is green (=MQA)
Looks like it works properly now.Diablo LED is green (=MQA)
But this album is not labeled as MQA. ???
I do get occasionally magenta, but cannot really figure out any "rules" behind this. Looks a bit random, but it is MQA, so who knows.....
But with Qobuz in UAPP I should get white when playing 192Khz (e.g. Bruce Springsteen Nebraska), right?
But LED stays yellow.
Same also in the Qobuz app
Edit: Sometimes I get green, as it should be with anything above 48 kHz. But also stays green with 44.1/16bit which should be yellow. This is totally random.

Perhaps you have the same issue I had: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/ifi...nce-done-our-way.951615/page-65#post-16249673
Thanks.
Observation looks very similar to mine.
What was/is the isuue and how do I solve it?

No. It's 44.1 / 16 in Tidal. So I have yellow LED.But this album is not labeled as MQA. ???
Unfortunately, I cannot check this, as the Tidal app always crashes when diablo is connected.

You'll need to send your Diablo back to us and we'll get it sorted for you! It's an LED-related issue we have to fix on our end.

When setting the output bitdepth (ie 16/24/32) in the MacOS ‘Midi Control panel’, you are setting the highest supported bit depth that you wish to use.Yes after some additional googling i have found this option. but it seems it sets specific bitrate as default and is not able to flexibly manage output bitrate according to bitrate of song played. seems to be mac os limitation not diablo’s. You software on the computer will then be able to use all rates ‘up to‘ this setting.
(you don’t need to keep changing it here)
