Not all iFi Burr brown DACs sound exactly the same.
As an example the Diablo is slightly different than the Gryphon.
The Go bar Gold ,to my ears, is sounding quite close to the Gryphon.

I saw you just post review n8ii, how dose gold bar sound compare to n8ii?

I thought about that too but I went all yolo and installed it on to my gold bar. For some reason, the xbass seems more noticable now as before it used to be a subtle change. XBass + IMR BC = bass head bliss

ps. I keep the film on because fingerprints makes me mad lol

thanks for the information about the xbass. I prefer the xbass as it is now (although I seldom use) since my ier-z1r already has very good realistic bass so I may not update the firmware.

XBass+ and XSpace are both analog circuit based. Changing firmware should have little to no effect on how both work unless there is something really wrong with the firmware.

I don’t get the so called IOS (iOS?) version for the GO Bar FW update. It contains a .dmg file which is a (to my knowledge) a MacOS disk image, and no iOS. Confused…

Sorry but I don't know anything about the iOS.
Windows worked just fine.

What @ClieOS said is correct - XBass and XSpace are all analogue. It is not something we would adjust via firmware.

I downloaded the 1.70 by entering the Gold serial number.
