I have stopped doing reviews long time ago due to a super busy schedule but immediately when I learned about the ifi go bar I was begging them for a review sample and they are so kind that they have just provided me one.

I am so big fan of the ifi audio sound that a month ago I posted that I am waiting for a dongle from them to bring some of their magic in a dongle form. And here we are...

I am expecting to post a review in around two weeks or so maybe sooner if my kids allow me...

Thank so much ifi audio....

I look forward to it. I've seriously been considering picking up an iFi Gryphon in the near future. (Primarily for flexibility and convenience in my apartment, though I might use it on the go occasionally.) However, since I'll only be using it with IEMs (so do not need a full watt of power) and do not use Bluetooth but do like MQA decoding (since Tidal is my primary music source), I'm wondering how close the Go bar, for almost half the price, comes to the Gryphon purely on sound quality.

Did you ever get an answer to this question? I've received mine and downloaded firmware, but there's no PDF instruction. I saw you posted later you had updated. Is there a guide somewhere? I do have a PC running windows 10. Thanks!
Oh yeah, you have to download the Windows Driver first. Then in Program Files open the iFi application and select the .bin file.

This video below helped a lot

The GO bar’s digital audio circuitry is based around a 32-bit Cirrus Logic DAC chipset with advanced multi-bit modulation.

Hi Sebastien and @iFi audio

Which Cirrus DAC chip model is being used?

And previously for DSD1793 Burr Brown chip we had such block diagram show.

Can we have the same for this Cirrus chip?

2 days listening to the Go Bar, Gold Go Bar and mojo 2 so far. Multiple headphones. Around 12 hours listening time so far. Early impressions are very positive. I can't wait to pick a winner though out of these three :)
I'm really excited to see your assessment. Curios how the Gold compare to the Go Bar if there are any noticeable differences, and how they compare to the venerable Mojo 2.

It is so much fun comparing all three. I have a few more genres of music to listen to and then I will be in a better position to start drawing my conclusions.

Really wish there was a clear transparent case for this. Also didn't realize how difficult it is to snap a pic of super shiney object. For now I'm leaving the protective film on though the edges are already starting to peel off. Right out the box, I updated the firmware. The process was quick and simple.

Some quick notes after about 4 hours of listening with Sennheiser 580 and Grado RS2E out of a Samsung Note 20. Both was easily driven (3.5mm single ended) with lots of head room to spare. I found that turbo mode sounded better for both which I guess makes sense since the 580 is 150ohm and RS2E around 50ohm. I found the xbass and xspace we're more subtle in change in comparison to the Xcan's version. Not sure if because the gold bar was in cyan NOS mode. Though I tried toggling xbass and xspace in the other filter modes and still only noticed a very subtle difference. I would describe the gold bar sound to be between the LP W2 (digital sounding) and Cayin RU6 (analog sounding). The RS2E tends to be a bright sounding headphone but through the gold bar, those harsh trebles were tamed down (xbass and xspace enabled). I got the gold bar more for my iems so I'll come back with another update later.

We don't specify that info, sorry, but thanks for asking :)

Compared to ifi blue go in term of SQ? I am debating between those two, and since I am only use IEM, a little worry about the SQ and hiss from 4.4mm of the blue go.

GO bar is above GO blu on sound quality, but the primary difference between them is that one was designed as a wireless device with a battery inside. The choice thus should also come down to utilities you're after. Hope this helps, thanks!

In the same vein, could you please provide a similar comment re: Go Bar vs Gryphon, sound quality-wise?
