Is this product discontinued? It was my favorite dongle by far. I am selling mine, but hope to buy one again in the future when I return to the hobby:

Nope, not discontinued, just sold out in most cases.

Sorry for the negative post, but the Kensei has been my main headphone amp since I bought it--a much better dongle than the other ones I've tried, rivaling and in some cases surpassing my xDuoo desktop amp--and unfortunately, today it died.

It started cutting out while listening to music, just entirely shutting off, lights off and everything. I plugged it back in and it would work again, but then a few minutes later, it would shut off. I thought maybe it was a faulty USB cable or port on my Mac, so I tried different cables and different ports, but the same thing happened.

Now it does not turn on at all, no matter what I do. It has just entirely ceased functioning. Oh well. It was nice while it lasted.

Sorry to hear that, is it still under warranty, how long did you have it for? My first one had crackling issues after 3 months, iFi sent me a replacement, then 8 months later (last week and exactly 1 year after purchase) the 4.4mm left channel went off and started making loud crackling noises. iFi support took it in and sent me another replacement that I got yesterday.

Anyway, it is so good that I want to purchase a second one as a backup but at this price I can get 3 Fiio KA17 which sounds as good and could be EQ.

Which xDuoo? This means a lot about the progress of dongles...

Anyway, it is so good that I want to purchase a second one as a backup but at this price I can get 3 Fiio KA17 which sounds as good and could be EQ.

Or one nunchaku and one ka17... plus your kensei you will have the holy trinity of dongles. I love all of them...

I have the ka5 instead because I cannot afford the kensei which has exactly the same sound signature with the kensei but the kensei is much ... much better than the ka5...

All of them together cost as much as a good desktop amp but if you love dongles is worth it to have all of them...
