iFi Audio Asks... What (Product) Should We Make Next?

With user replaceable battery pack, like those at digital camera.A portable CD Player that has a home dock that it mates to. HDMI, Coax and Toslink outputs on the Home Dock and built-in HDMI, Coax and Toslink outputs on the player. The Dock should have a display with essential information easily read on the front of the unit. The player itself should have a smaller version built into the top of the player's lid raised up and title for easier reading. Easily replaced batteries reside in the CD player and can be charged via USB on the go or when docked in your Home.
Both the player and the Home Dock should not be ugly. It should not look like the product of a frAudiophile's ego. It should pay homage to classic CD Players of the past as well as classic turntables with the Dock side of this equation. Use of quality materials and classic styling are very important. It should have a fully functioning remote control. I own and use a CD Player I got off of Amazon that has an optical output. It works great and looks equally as nice.
The entire package should cost no more than $400 U.S. It MUST be a player as it is also a portable and when docked you can foo-foo with an outboard DAC to your ego's content via the HDMI, Coax and Optical outputs.
Just an ORTish thought, sir...

First on my list would be a DAP, as it's the type of product that gets less attention and DAPs would benefit from a "revival" in my opinion.
A DAP with iFi's in-house sound and features like xBass/xSpace will likely be appreciated by many.
Second on the list would be a portable CD player as we haven't seen a good quality portable one in more than a decade.
Such CD player should have: a removable battery (prefferably AAs), window (to see the disc spinning) and gapless playback.

OTL tube amp with selectable output impedances for high impedance headphones (300ohm Sennheisers, ZMFs etc.). Keep it simple, rca/single ended back and front, forget bass boost and crossfeed buttons. Don't stress about power output, it shouldn't be able to power planars. Focus on the sound of the tubes. Niche product for a specific type of headphone, pure analog goodness.

I really want a higher end stand alone DAC that will feed my iCan pro signature. I love the burr brown sound you have developed but I don’t need the x-bass, x-space, tubes, etc that the pro iDSD has because the amp has all that, and I don’t need another headphone output.
Basically I want a standalone version of the DAC section of the iDSD pro.
I’d also be interested in your take on a full R2R DAC

Damn that sucks. My zen dac sig was amazingly snug. Not the case. A friends ifi Gryphon 4.4mm port started to come loose due to the pull when removing a 'normal' 4.4mm plug.
On topic, my suggestion would be a tube dongle dac/amp with similar functionality and power as ifi go bar

A top high end transportable (like iDSD or Diablo), battery operated R2R DAC with a top USB connection that doesn't need a DDC. Many of us have great desktop tube or SS amps on our desks so having a high end transportable device that we can use both at our work desk as well as using it to listen in other rooms of the house makes it a great versatile device. Many people are willing to pay $2-3k on great DAPs but many (like me) prefer to use their phone and portable computer as source so a top sounding transportable device is what we are looking for. Other manufacturers have broken the size barrier building DAPs with a R2R DAC so I'm sure iFi is certainly able to build a top sounding R2R DAC in a device like iDSD or Diablo that has more space then a DAP. Thanks for considering it.

I see from the front page Shanling has a new SACD player. 2 channel only. iFi should jump on a multichannel SACD player to compete

Electrostat energizer for less than $800 would be terrific.

Just so you all know, I have absolutely enjoyed reading through all the ideas posted here.
And a special note some of the "iFi type names" were especially cool.
On my next call, I am going to shout out this thread and the ideas posted within here, we appreciate your time in responding, and as I said sometimes (for me) it's nice to step outside our normal type of thread here and just chat with the folks! I appreciate that!
Cheers!!
