If you would, look at my music and give me opinions for things under $500

just curious why you hate Sennheisers.  My 650's sound amazing and look great, for Radiohead for instance

MUST be amped though...

Based on this I would do Grado RS-2 or RS-1 if you can stretch the budget slightly. My second choice would be Beyer DT880/600 ohm.

I mostly listen to Radiohead, Sigur Rós, God Is An Astronaut, Portugal. The Man and Pink Floyd, but almost everything else does get some listing time.

I love the way the K702's look, but I'm reading that they might not be the right choice, and aesthetics are somewhat important for me (I hate Sennheisers!). I want something serviceable, comfortable, sexy, bomb proof and most importantly, amazing sounding. I'd like to stay under $300 but I will go up to $500 if need be.

I listen to a lot of the same music you do (add in metal, classical, and neo-folk though) and use Ultrasone 2500s with a Cowon J3 and no amp.  They (the Ultrasones) can be had for under $200 on both ebay and at Overstock.com.  They get mixed reviews, and require a very long burn in period, but I really like mine a lot.

nice collection of tunes.   Finding the right cans for all my music/applications was near impossible....maybe the HD800 (too rich for my blood).  I opted for 2 pairs that I often interchange.
The HD580 for more delicate recordings (DODO's BOB DYLAN ETC.)and the M50 for Rock/Metal/Electronic(Amber Asylum/Tool).    Good luck finding "the one".

I get it that you want your CANs to look good and all but are you planning to wear them out on the streets ? or are you trying to impress your dog?
