If you still love Etymotic ER4, this is the thread for you...

Tips - I use comply Tx100 (same goes with the Klipsch)

Filters - using the above tips makes filters a non-issue, as they have wax-guard. Otherwise I sometimes bought filters at large Japanese retailers (Yodobashi, etc), but they were also Ety made
Concerts - give it a try just using your new Ety :) Close to 40db attenuation should do the trick

PS - as you have old 'phones - did you know about etymotics replacement program? Really worth checking out here:

Filters - using the above tips makes filters a non-issue, as they have wax-guard.

With BA Etys, the filters are not just wax guards but are part of the acoustic design, and removing them (or switching to a different color, e.g. green filter to red filter) will change the frequency response. Technical details at https://www.knowles.com/docs/default-source/default-document-library/tb-14.pdf?sfvrsn=2

While the ER2 models don't use BA drivers, the green filters in my pair are visually indistinguishable from those I use with my other green-filter Etys, and I think it's pretty likely they have the same acoustic tuning function in the 2s as in the 3s and 4s.

That said, you can of course experiment with removing the filters or substituting different ones – if you search the thread you'll find posts about that – and you may find that some of these options work well for you with your hearing and the tips you select.

I have been on the hunt for good tips for awhile. I liked the Westone green tips really well but they ended up hurting my ears after longer sessions. I ordered these generic tips after seeing someone on a Chinese cable thread and honestly these things are like marshmallow pillows. I have comply tips and these are better hands down. I don’t usually make definitive statements but honestly these are better, cheaper, and come in all kinds of colors. So I did the red and blue thing as I don’t like feeling around for the little L and R indicators on the cable.

Give them a try, isolation is best I’ve had as well.

Well, that sounds great but the website is monstrously absurd, difficult to figure out. Yes, it's in English, but the functionality is bizarre. What size did you get? Evidently they have S, M, L. You ordered two items in order to get two colors?

Payment was by CC (they charge $0.80 for Paypal, so went CC) and was $4.39. I think I got a $2 off coupon while poking around, but a code wasn't displayed, I think it kicked in kind of behind the scenes! I got my email confirmation, which said payment was "being verified." Shipment appears to be ~5 weeks from China, and free.

Hey, folks,
Looks like Etymotic is going to launch new products very soon: https://www.facebook.com/Etyhead/ph...5&notif_t=feedback_reaction_generic&ref=notif

From the picture above I can see double flanges and something else which is most likely related to wireless technology.

The left side of my ER2XR has started to rattle on low frequencies producing a parasiting noise. It's only audible if you are looking for it and in certain frequencies at the very low of the spectrum. However, it is annoying knowing it's there and I can't help but notice it now that I know. I tried changing the filters but didn't make any difference at all. Does anyone have any idea? Is that a defect? I got my pair second hand on eBay so chances are the problem was there when I first got them but have only noticed it recently. Does Etymotic sell individual drivers as spares? I could probably buy a new driver for the left side if it's worth it.

Adjusted brightness levels...
Definitely looks like some kind of ER-2 connected to what could be a Bluetooth-able cable (?).

Would be nice, although I’m no fan of BT on IEMs.

What do you usually get as far as foams? Deep inserts I’d get a size down what your usual shallow insert size is. So like if you usually use mediums For normal iems I’d get small. They are so cheap you could get all 3 sizes in one pair each then order the best size in colors you want etc. they took about 3 weeks to get to me. So not that long g.

Yeah, way better! I was on my PC. Thanks!
