If you could only own ONE...

If that's the case then I'd go for the HD650s (woodied, recabled, whatever).

There can be only one: The Complete Orpheus System — HE90/HEV90 (the phones without the dedicated amp won't do...).

No truer words spoken, which is why I mentioned it.

Sony SA5000 - the best dynamic headphone for under $2000 (list price, and excepting the UE10 pro, which I have never heard).

Use with a real good CD source and real good headphone amp, and you can hear everything that is on a CD in the best sound possible.

You'll be surprised at how good CDs can sound and will hear things on your old CDs that you never realized were there.

UE-10. Not the best of them but pretty close and can be enjoyed in every situation (street, work, home...), being the isolation a nice plus.

I think the UE-10 deserves a slot here. Besides, a lot of people is choosing it.

Cheers

Go for the 650's. They're very good all-a-rounders.

If we are living in the real world, Sony CD3000

Otherwise the Orpheus, purely on its reputation. And if I didn't like it, I could just sell it and buy all the high-end headphones in the world anyway :>

Go for the HD650...excellent sound, comfort and cheaper than the RS-1 or UE10. These 3 factors are more than enough to steer u onto the sennheiser bandwagon.

Grados r not know for their comfort and the UE10 will cause and eruption of your wallet period.....

The RS-1 would be a better choice if you don't have a heavy-duty amp. They sound good from modest amps or even directly from an iPod's headphone port.

Later, you can add an amp and enjoy it. When your wallet has charged up again, you can add an HD650 or even an HD600.

Even as a HP2 owner, I have to say the Daddy Orpheus System
