I did not like the Grado SR60 and Beyerdynamic DT235 because of their treble response. I found that to be too bright and harsh to my ears. However, I have always and still enjoy my KSC-75. Also liked my AKG K501.
I am now considering the Koss DJ100 and its #1 on my list, but also wanted to consider the Sony MDR-V6 and Shure SRH440. I have read/heard comments here and there about the V6 and SRH440 being a little hot in the top end. That would be a deal breaker for me. So I need your help in getting in idea of how hot they are as compared to the DT235 and SR60.

Any others that you would like to suggest for me in this price range ? (I dont think I will like Senns based on my experience with the 555/595 and felt the mids to be a bit recessed).

The Sony MDR V6 won't be as bright as the SR60i's.  Haven't heard the Beyer DT235.

A headphone in this price range with a warm tone is the Creative Aurvana Live!.

I`ve got the Sony MDR-V6 and they have slightly bright treble. A little harsh with some songs. I prefer my Koss DJ100, treble is relaxed compared. Also soundstage is much wider. See  http://www.head-fi.org/t/571216/koss-pro-dj-100-the-budget-king for more info. Hopefully it will tell you what you want to know.
