No you might need a couple of more outputs so maybe 2i4 would be better. I looked up the device, D.I.Y amplifier .
The 2i4 is two DACs. Balanced line outs and unbalanced (RCA) line outs are completely separate signal paths. So it's like two DACs in one box. That's why it's perfect for what you need. XLR balanced out for the monitors, unbalanced RCA line out for the other thing.
You need not worry about the signal being too strong for the tube device either. Line in and out is an industry standard. Max line out is a perfect fit for max line in. That's how it works.
I still think the 2i4 is the best option but there are even cheaper alternatives. So to offer a choice. On your head be it.....

Finally ready to order an LRS305 to connect to an Anedio D2 DAC, and need to order a cable.
The DAC is connected by USB to the computer, and has dual RCA single-ended and dual XLR connectors. Cable type and recommendation would be cool!

Not only is it a DAC. It's a multichannel, balamced DAC. And a multichannel ADC. And a mixer, And a DI box. And a headphone amp. And a channel strip. And a mic pre. And a EQ/Effects. And more.....
And it's costs little more than a simple stereo hi-fi grade DAC although it does the basic job just as well. If not better. Plus the software is kept up to date.
If you own or plan to own a pair of active monitors you need one of these. Even if you don't realise it yet. They were designed and have evolved to work together.
