No you might need a couple of more outputs so maybe 2i4 would be better. I looked up the device, D.I.Y amplifier .

Essentially 1/4" Phono/XLR cables to JBL LSR305 and RCA output to the headphone amplifier. They should work in tandem as it's a 4 output system whereas the line out is shared with the headphone amplifier. The RCA output should be a low enough level not to distort or overload the custom amplifier. Just verify before you purchase if you are still not sure.

From the video I watched, I would only recommend that you used the Bottleneck amp through a line-out to RCA coax. You just need a constant low signal that can be amplified. Re-amplification would overload and damage something. A bit like when you plug in a turntable into a Phono amp which doesn't need any boost.

So some straight stereo RCA cables out of the interface like a 2i4 will do the trick. The interface is capped at 24/96KHz however this should translate well over the amp, especially if the audio you listen to is already been recorded at that format. I hope that answers your question.

The 2i4 is two DACs. Balanced line outs and unbalanced (RCA) line outs are completely separate signal paths. So it's like two DACs in one box. That's why it's perfect for what you need. XLR balanced out for the monitors, unbalanced RCA line out for the other thing.

You need not worry about the signal being too strong for the tube device either. Line in and out is an industry standard. Max line out is a perfect fit for max line in. That's how it works.

I still think the 2i4 is the best option but there are even cheaper alternatives. So to offer a choice. On your head be it.....

QED, Hosa or Atlas RCA leads should do the job although I personally think there's a placebo effect going on with all of that. Compared to standard leads, they do present a good lasting value though. I don't know which cable you would require for a Bottlehead Crack. Which country are you in?

Finally ready to order an LRS305 to connect to an Anedio D2 DAC, and need to order a cable.

The DAC is connected by USB to the computer, and has dual RCA single-ended and dual XLR connectors. Cable type and recommendation would be cool!

So RCA to 1/4" mono plug cable for an un-balanced connection.
XLR to XLR cable for a balanced connection.
Check the website Monoprice, great prices.

Not only is it a DAC. It's a multichannel, balamced DAC. And a multichannel ADC. And a mixer, And a DI box. And a headphone amp. And a channel strip. And a mic pre. And a EQ/Effects. And more.....

And it's costs little more than a simple stereo hi-fi grade DAC although it does the basic job just as well. If not better. Plus the software is kept up to date.

If you own or plan to own a pair of active monitors you need one of these. Even if you don't realise it yet. They were designed and have evolved to work together.

subbed to this.
what if i want to use one of my own dacs (from laptop)
chord mojo or dragonfly red (both have 3.5 out)
or ifi micro idsd which has dual rca outs?
would be then connected to jbl 305.
can you also control volume from computer?
