  Nah, that's not true - they don't measure higher by default. And as I said before there are vinyl rips and vinyl rips. There are some very very good rips that just destroy their CD counterparts.

Sorry, I don't want to get into arguments on that matter. This has been discussed already on stevehoffman's forums and other places and there have been quite a few different opinions, so let's just agree to disagree. Anyway, as I said that's why we have ears - you listen to the CD, you listen to the rips and decide, which is better to you. The superiority in the DR of vinyl releases is usually very easy to hear. Now if it uses the same master you can hear it sounds the same so you can just stick to the CD
