How well do these scale with a tube amp? I'm using it with the mojo2 and whilst I'm really happy with the sound, I've some spare cash and curious adding a tube amp to th mix.
They are excellent with tube amps. They are easy to drive so a tube amp has no problem with them and they really flesh out the sound of a good amp.How well do these scale with a tube amp? Of course, an amp would add to the listening experience. But since headphones are a one on one experience, it would be your experience whether you perceive this change to be positive positive or not. I don't find the Mojo as the most revealing device, but it is smooth and enjoyable. The SR3 are excellent with the PB5, the two cayin 2 tube amps that I have and other amplifiers. They reveal what each amp does with the music. The LTA amps are also excellent. If you are looking for a portable amp solution the PB5 can't be beat, IMO and the D16 is one of the best DACs I have ever heard.Ive asked a question about adding a tube amp with the mojo2 as dac. I've had weird responses, I can already find a comfortable listening levels with the mojo2 and as the sr3's are easy to drive an amp won't add much to the sound?
A friend of mine replaced the HE1000se with the SR3.Not sure but I'd like to read a comparison of the sr3's with the he1000 stealth
