Just upgraded the MicroZotl 2 with the latest power supply from Linear Tube and what an upgrade! And the SR1 go right along with it. Excellent layered and dynamic sound.

I had a MicroZotl amp before but then sold it because my friends built the monoblock 2A3 push-pull amps for me. :smile_phones:
If you haven't heard it with the upgraded latest PS, 12SN7 1951 Sylvania (what they call the bad boys for the 6SN7) and some nice 7062 Phillips, you haven't heard it. :^) But mine also has a Goldpoint attenuator, all hard wired solid silver wiring and some other additions like Furutech RCAs.

If I get a chance to get one later I will do that. Well, I miss the tube sound so much. :frowning2:

Also using a MZ2, though not quite tricked out as yours. Mine came used with stock switching power supply but for now I am able to use a HDPLEX200 LPS until I decide to go for a LTA LPS+ or one from Mojo Audio.

It is a pretty good pairing between the MZ2 + SR1.

I should consider your 12SN7 1951 Sylvania selection for the MZ2.

So I have received my replacement stock cable and I am so happy to enjoy the SR1 again, I missed it during those few days!

I’ll test the CB15 I ordered as well with WM1Z before I test it again with Hiby R6 Pro next week :)

Thanks @Paul - iBasso !

Forgive my ignorance , but I am a iem guy - love the bass of my phantoms, legends x and u12t with the dx200 mod Amp8. Anyway, I know nothing about swapping pads. How do I do that on the sr1?

Get yourself the ibasso PT1 which are perforated pads then follow @Whitigir how to swap pads in this thread.

New toys delivered to me today include PT1 and CB12s.

Still not touch PT1 bcs just put CB12s on the cans.
Impressive. There's more tiny sound appears than stock cable.
It is good cable but I think is not for SR1 bcs it is tiny wire as for iem.
I'd like a headphone cable wire size

Its fairly easy to change pads on the SR1, even if you have never tried it before.

So... I just received the Hiby R6 Pro and I got some time with the SR1 using CB15 balanced cable... I like what I am hearing, the 750mW (at 32ohm) rated 4.4 out certainly packs plenty of power and it shows ! The R6 Pro has a fairly neutral signature and the synergy is quite good with the SR1, actually better than the Micro BL which I didn’t expect !

Balanced really benefits the SR1, soundstage clearly benefits from it...

IMO, The less impedance, the more reduce channel separation. When I insert SR1 to the amp while listening on HD800s, I heard this effect clearly. Reverse, listening on SR1 and plug hd800s in, nothing happen can heard.
SR1 is just 22Omh so balance will improve much.
Anyway I dont understand the case : on ak120ii there's few benefit of bal v.s se, . But on sp1000 that is huge thing.

====
PT1 yes, give wider sound field and extend the high v.s stock pad.
Stock pad give more rich and magical bass than PT1. PT1 did not open up the sound too much on my unit, I'd digged 12 holes on each site at the first day of use which may works well on stock pad

As a rule of copper cable, bass is bold, rich and warmn fuller mid.
Use PT1 with copper (stock) cable seems to suit my preference than copper-silver cable which CB12s is.
But stock cable is se3.5 ... theres not a similar to CB15 but 2.5mm on ibasso web.
