Has anyone demoed this ?

I'm looking to getting a portable amp for my R6P2 in the next months, and with this and the Mass Kobo 475 for "almost" the same price, I really wonder which one would be a better buy...... (This seems much more portable than the 475 tho )

@audionewbi I wonder if this Amplifier also will sport the new Step Attenuator ? or perhaps different version which use the traditional analog pot and one for Step Att

I've tried the pre-release unit and that needed a lot or work (tonality wise).
But it is the same size as RS8 and DX320 max.

I'm more excited about the D16. I know it will mature in the years to come and when it does, I can't wait to see it implemented in a max format DAP.

What will the difference between the two amps be? One tube and one solid state? The 320 max is so powerful and perfect I don’t think it’ll need a solid state amp. I was thinking the tube amp could be fun with the 320 max for a different flavor.

D16 Is a dac/amp where as PB5 is a pure amp.
PB5 to my ears didn't have that woo audio tube sound. It think phatlab Phantsay II is probably the only tube amp I care to buy.

Yes, but I dont know if D16 would have a true lineout. I've not tried D16.

I am floored every time I listen to 320Max Ti!!! I can’t believe there is such a stock player can satisfy my inner beast of tinkering and tweaking. Here, after several years, Ibasso hit it right at the sweetest spot. I can not imagine what the newer Ibasso products would be like

However, with tonal timbres from this prerelease units, it could go either way

Of the PB5, do you know anything about the release date and official price in Europe/USA?
I knew from an Ibasso source that it was supposed to be released by November 2023, but nothing

Price seems to be 1.5k for PB5 and 1.6k for D16. That's what the ibasso.com have them listed right now.

yah, still a very primitive listing. I dont even think it is available yet as the stock status is out of stock. Only a couple updated pictures so far
