iBasso IT04 IEM, 4 Drivers. Enjoy the Music! Release: July 2, 2018

I was searching a long long time for a perfect IEM that suited my needs. For a few years, I used EarSonics SM3v2 and loved their sound. However, the shell casing on the left earbud came apart one day and I was not able to fix it. The wires separated and was no longer producing sound.

I purchased quite a few IEMs based on research and help from others. My head automatically wanted me to believe that more drivers equalled better sound. I purchased IEMs with 3 BA, a hybrid pair, basically anything other than a single dynamic.

I was very close to purchasing the IT03s, but this was right around the same time the 01s came out. After reading all the praise for the 01s, I bought a pair and I've loved every second that I've had the pleasure to listen to them. I have about 50 hours on them and the better they continue to sound the more eager I get for the IT04s.

The specs make it appear as if it should be easy to drive from just about any source....

Yes. I had them to show at the NYC CanJam. I was told all tuning was done and the product is finished. To me, they sounded more like headphones than IEM's. I was quite surprised by the open non head stage sound. I asked about the carrying case also, and was told that it is an aluminum case with a screw on lid, which is really cool.

Must not reach into wallet. Must not reach into wallet.

Another useless mantra.

My it01 pair is nowhere near broken in yet. So far I would say they have a relaxed sound. Certaily not grating. I say that because of complaints made against the LZ A5 where people thought the treble was too sibilant. The it01 does ft it with all my other pairs of IEMs and hopefully the it04 will rule the roost.

A tour would be great.

Yes, a tour is a nice idea to get an idea. I haven't even heard an iBasso earphone as of yet. The reviews give an idea but not the real thing :)
