Have a look on insert picture. There is comparison between Andromeda and IT 01 nozzle. Spiral dot tips are perfectly tight on Andromeda nozzle. There are two enlargement of nozzle diameter. One prevent tip movement out and one in. IT 01 has only one and JVC tips are moving up and down, that is reason for shallow fit, because tips are to fare on nozzle.

I didn't understand what you were saying at first, because these tips work great for me. But now I see you're talking about going too far down the nozzle. There's an easy fix for that, one that I don't personally need, but you can try spacers. I've used this on other IEMs in the past.

Yes, I see now. Thanks for posting that photo.

I am not having a fitment issue with the IT01, at least as far as nozzle length applies, but I was with a different product.

My solution was to sacrifice a single small silicone tip for the solution. I turned it inside out to access the part that slides over the nozzle. I cut it to produce 3 equally sized silicone rings. 1 for each ear and an extra. Or you can throw away the third one. Its the length that's important. More than about a third long and the actual ear tip won't stay on and you'll be fishing it from your ear. I've also found that if I get the inexpensive Chinese foamies instead of Comply brand that I can get ones with a smaller nozzle diameter than the standard 4.9mm. I have some in both 4.5mm and 4.0mm sizes. Makes them tighter on the shortened nozzle that remains after the spacer. Of course this doesn't apply to silicone tips which I end up using more often despite my preference for foamies.

Yes, I know. I have few of spacers I have made and I'm using them sometimes. Anyway with IT01 I found best synergy with Comply foams. Comfort and sound as well.

BTW I have now with IT01 cable from ALI and work and look very well. There is no noticeable sound differences between this one and original cabe.

Hi all,

Long time lurker here. I bought the IT01 and love the sound, so much so that my I ended up selling my Oriveti New Primacy's as I ended up not using them since I got the IT01s.

However I keep experiencing driver flex, no matter how carefully I try to put them in. I'm not sure if it is connected but the right driver has stopped working. I want to rule out the cable being a problem however having trouble removing it. Long story cut short

1) any tips for removing the cable?
2) where can I contact iBasso for warranty issues

Sincerest apologies if I'm being thick with the above ques'

2) check out the first post in the thread. From @Paul - iBasso who may be able to help you directly and if not should be able to get you the necessary information for warranty issues.
1) I sometimes have problems with MMCX connectors. Not wanting to just wrap the cable around 1 hand and gett a firm grip on the IEM with the other I just use a knife blade carefully slid between the two pieces at the seam. A sometimes not completely gentle rocking or twisting motion gets them to pop apart.

I think most people will always agree with this, IT01 seems quite universal, even though I have quite specific tastes in general, IT01 magically hits a sweet spot with me, like it does with everybody!

Seems that iBasso knows how to make a killer IEM at a sweet price point

I absolutely agree George. I've been a supporter of iBasso for a long time and have found that the IT01 paired with the DX200 comes the closest in sound signature to the iconic DX100 (my favorite player of all time).

Please contact by email at paul@ibasso.com if you are still having issues with the IT01. To take the cable off if it is fitting tight at the MMCX, you can use something thin to go under the lip of the connector to disconnect.

F9's treble was just too much and has narrower soundstage. FH1 is too dark compared to IT01, IMO not good at all for metal.

If you have to pick one as far as I'm concerned it's an easy recommendation for IT01.

That said I wouldn't use them at the gym, the cable is too heavy (and if you keep swapping it you'd end up damaging the connectors) and in the long run the sweat would ruin them.
I use some simple KZ ATR at the gym, 5$ and with some KZ star-lines or the other blue ones you saw a few posts earlier, they are perfect.
They handle any genre and you have the peace of mind that even if they stop working you just need 5$ to replace them (if it wasn't clear enough, I love KZ ATR).

But yeah, among those (and 1More Triple, the other one I had in this price range) the IT01 is the clear winner.

Would you consider using bluetooth earphones for the gym?

For strenuous activity, I just use a "beater' set of earphones.. one I don't worry about damaging or losing..

My original goal was to simplify things and just have one IEM for everything:
  • Gym use - I like the idea of MMCX so I could attach a bluetooth cable. Cables at the gym don't really bother me too much though - comfort is key here
  • On a plane/in public - noise cancelling on my end doesn't matter, it would need to be very closed off so the person next to me doesn't hear anything. I have multiple 10 hour flights coming up this summer that I would be using these for
  • At home - right now I've been listening to a pair of Monk+ earbuds with my turntable/cassette deck/digital files. At work I use a Modi 2/Magni 2/DT770 250 setup which I love as well
I wouldn't be opposed to two sets - though if I could find something that worked for everything that would be great.

I was considering a bluetooth cable, too, but for my Nuforce EDC... I understand that MMCX connectors aren't particularly durable so I'm not going to tamper with the IT01's cables if I don't have to.

Yeah and if you live in a bustling city, I don't recommend noise-cancelling headphones; as a pedestrian, when dangers are abound, you have to be aware of your surroundings.

LOL yeah, noise cancelling headphones/earbuds aren't good for NYC streets. They're an easy way to get hit by a cab! lol

I've got one of these Sony sbh50 Bluetooth receivers it has a 3.5mm jack so you don't have to put wear and tear on the mmcx connectors and it drives the IT01s nicely when I need to go wireless or you could use the included ear buds which are pretty decent for gym use.

Whichever way you go pick up the IT01s first, they sound amazing and not just for an IEM they are a listening experience that you shouldn't miss. Good luck.
