yes, I have satisfied all of these steps. Its seeing the file on some level as its asking me if I want to perform the update which doesn't happen if the update file is not on the drive. But from there it seems to be failing. I appreciate the help though!

Try downloading the firmware update again. Format the SD card as Fat32 and put the unzipped .img file on it. Power up the DX80 and do a factory reset, then put the card in and try updating again from the DX menu

It must be in FAT32 fotmat. NOT exfat which cannot be access during firmware update. I initially had the same issue too.

There is a free software called guiformat which will format to Fat32 regardless of the card size.

I use an 8gb card in FAT32 for all of my updates on any of the daps I own if a card is required.

I dont think any fitted cases have been released yet for the DX80. It might fit some generic ones if thats what you mean.

Just received the dx80 I loved the thing, many glitches in software and definitely audible hiss... Unfortunately

However sound quality, for me a dx90 owner and previous x5 and x5ii, clearly dx80 prevails and provides grainy vocals, clarity and very impressive Soundstage with my se846, I really enjoy this

However I am experiencing hiss even on a black track (null)
Only flaw, I can deal with the freezes in my exfat SD card

Anything at all thst be done about hiss?

Nothing could be done to the hiss. Unless you add an impedance adapter to it.

Oh man, really? This impedance adapter, idk /anything about it, is it portable? Where can I purchase

Tested on low gain, 320 k a, 16 bit, 24/96 it all does it, my dx90 was quiet on the hiss compared to this, I love dx80 sound,, disappointed in hiss... I love give it a week, I don't want to return but...
