Their response was to inform me that the batter is user replaceable and that I should purchase another battery.
That person must be confused with DX50/DX90!

Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum but recently purchased a dx80 after reading this thread. I've had mine for a couple of weeks and just started getting a screen glitch that I could only describe as "vertical lines of various colors that change as the contents of the screen changes". I've re-installed firmware 1.5.8 and done a few factory resets to no avail. Has anyone else experienced this? Apologies if this issue has already been covered; I tried to search the thread for it and didn't come up with anything.

Looks like a new account can't post images, so here are links to some photos I took:

Can anyone confirm the warranty duration?  I contacted iBasso regarding the battery issue in my dx80 purchased last December.  Their response was to inform me that the batter is user replaceable and that I should purchase another battery.  I was expecting a bit more sympathy for the fact that my unit seems to have a defective battery.

I am sorry for the communication error. The DX80 battery can be replaced by a few distributors that have the capability or by sending the DX80 to our factory. It is not typically user replaceable.

Hi, New member, long time lurker.

I purchased my DX80 a few months ago. It had the 1.3.3 firmware version installed. Have tried a couple other firmwares, pleased with 1.5.8 so far.

As of a couple weeks ago I have noticed the battery draining issue some others here have discovered. I mostly play 24/96 files. And don't use the device more than a half hour at a time. Usually in my car, and also at home via USB. It will start out charged or 90% range, then it goes down 20-30 mins to 60% or thereabouts. I'd leave it off and use it on way home from work, from 60% when I get home (half hour of playing) it goes near dead or shuts off. I noticed when it goes to 60-70% and fit the charging cable from my car into it, it will rapidly charge. Reads that way anyway. Then take the charger cable out, it will discharge as usual again.

I read somewhere that you should take caution not to let the battery drain to 0% or you could possibly damage the battery. I'd imagine there are some safeguards factored into the firmware preventing the device from allowing it to go to 0%. Could this issue be involved in what seems to be an in-house battery defect, ie triggering the battery to go wonky? Just adding to the discussion. I'll be contacting support and ship it off to get a battery replacement asap.

The battery we use in the DX80 is not cheap. We actually paid more for it than normal as we were seeking the best battery we could source. There are some that have not met the standard and I apologize for this. It is not because we skimped on what we paid or the quality we wanted for the DX80.
