There's an A-hole on Amazon who sells numerous different items, at vastly inflated price, with the excuse/pretense that it is worth it because of some crappy included extended warranty. I've even contacted Amazon about it, and they totally ignored me - so you have to wonder, are Amazon complicit in their customers being ripped-off by these sharks..?
 
Same goes for eBay, although their listings tend to be of a more transient nature than Amazons

Did you get screwed with import duty? This seems to be a random event....
 
379 euros from http://www.audiophonics.fr/fr/baladeurs-hi-fi/ibasso-dx80-dap-baladeur-hifi-dac-cs4398-x2-24bit192khz-dsd-sacd-iso-p-10381.html if they post to the UK; £268 which sounds pretty good, but could take a month to arrive.
 
Still need to be convinced of its superiority over my DX90, although a bigger touch screen would be great!

Did you get screwed with import duty? This seems luck of the draw. A french supplier has it for 379 euros which seems a good price. 15-25 days shipping delay though.
Be interesting to see AMP3's price....

Have you ever seen "Sears Marketplace"? I mean  they have a ALO RxMK3-B+ for $2157.00 or thereabouts - some prices online are looney. You can get a brand new AK100 Mk2 for $399 or if you want it to come from Japan, $1200.00

Sears is horrible, when I use to look for the TF10, they were double the price of anyone else.

I have installed what I believe to be the firmware that will soon be available for download from iBasso, and so far, all the previous issues reported seem to have been addressed. Even the issues that I found with the beta firmware have been resolved.

I do think that prospective purchasers need not worry about going through the teething issues that were encountered with the DX50 and DX100.

Kudos to iBasso for their prompt response to feedback from early users!

Yeah...lost some sleep (staring at the ceiling) over that tonight, but I couldn't find the answer to this question.
For me it's in the same category as the pyramids, Area 51 and the Bermuda triangle

I can only think that it's the price and perhaps the intended place of the item in the line up. The DX80 isn't a clear winner over the 90, but is cheaper. All other improvements can be due to the fact that the device is newer and iBasso has been improving in certain areas like build and design. The DX100 is the most expensive, and of course DX50 is the cheapest.
