Amp14 because of the tube design is not as loud as solid amps.
However, dx320 has better control special in treble region

I'm not comparing AMP14 to AMP11 or AMP12 (or AMP13)

Here's what I've compared
AMP11 in DX300
Compared to
AMP11 in DX320
Same power/volume

AMP12 in DX300
Compared to
AMP12 in DX320
Same power/volume

AMP13 in DX300
Compared to
AMP13 in DX320
Same power/volume

AMP14 in DX300
Compared to
AMP14 in DX320
Much less power/volume in DX300

That's fair. I suppose amp14 as a default was tunned and optimized for dx320, that's why its performance with dx300 may result worse than on dx320

Has anyone heard of or tried RootlessJamesDSP on their DX300?

https://github.com/ThePBone/RootlessJamesDSP

It can do systemwide audio DSP, such as EQ or convolution correction…and more. It requires Android 11, which we now have access to.

It’s available on the Play store for free.

Never tried it. Other than Viper4android, I have not found a system wide DSP that works very well on the android system. Having said that, I have not been looking because I have all that I need locally with Neutron, and with streaming Amazon has an EQ (albeit simplistic and basic, it works fine for my needs).

Thanks for sharing though. Let us know how good/bad it works?!

Not sure if anyone else has experience this problem. My dx300 one day shut off like normal after a full battery drain and then could not for the life of me be turned back on. Slow charge via USB to pc, fast pd charger to a wall unit, I even bought a new battery from ibasso and installed it and still it can’t be turned on. At this point I can’t figure out what could possibly be wrong.

I’ve tried holding the power button for 20 seconds to get the battery out of “protection” mode, holding power button and play buttons, absolutely nothing.

It’s been incredibly frustrating because I already sent the unit once before back to ibasso for a battery replacement and paid for back and forth shipping and now this.

It’s becoming more and more likely I am holding a $1000 brick at the is point. Anyone have any ideas what could be the problem? I can’t imagine any pcb issues with the board since there was no operating system issues before it last died.
Yes. Mine came back to life after I left it alone for a few months, and tried charging it again, it worked!

After working a few months, the levels are now very low on the headphone output.

It is located in Settings > Audio. To be clear, are you coming from another one of the amps that don't have LO/PO both? If so, you need to reboot to enable the option in software.

Having said that, if you are using Amp 11 for LO, there is not much difference between the two modes since it is not true LO and doesn't bypass the amplifier circuit. All that is really happening here when putting it into LO mode, it simply limits the Voltage output. Technically speaking, you are still double amping when using LO or PO into another amplifier unless you have a bypass circuit in the amplifier. AFAIK, Amp12 and Amp14 are the only ones that have a true LO circuit.

Knowing all that, the LO from Amp11MKxx connector is well implemented by iBasso, and while you WOULD be double amping it, there is no dicernable noise. Only the colorization that the Amp11 might add to the chain.

right now i am using ir wirh amp 14!
how do i reboot then? once inserted the amp 11 i mean, thanks
You should never change the Amp cards with the device powered on. They are not hot swappable, and there is potential for burning them up.

Turn your device off, replace amp card, and power it back up.

To restart your device, hold the volume wheel depressed for a few seconds until you get a menu that gives the options to power off, restart, or boot into Mango OS. Simply click the choice you want. Having said that, there is a PDF manual that will give you all the basic controls for the device. You can find it on iBasso's web site.

Yeah I used a multimeter and could barely get over half a volt out of the phono out on AMP14, compared to 1.5 for the line out, and compared again to nearly 3V on the AMP11 mk2. Something's definitely fishy when it comes to compatibility between the DX300 and AMP14. Even accounting for power losses there's no way I should be getting 5.5mW on essentially no load.

Odd question: are there any recent competitors to the dx300 (my preferred amp is the 11mk2) that you've heard, that are more pocketable (i.e. smaller) with similarly expansive, detailed, warm-ish, powerful sound?

Really, my only gripe with my300 is just that the form factor is so unnecessarily large :frowning2: I would use it on the go a lot more if it wasn't such a brick.

Check out the DX 240 if you haven't

Planning to get Ibasoo 300 in stock config second hand. The idea is to run it with ZMF Atrium Closed and Meze Advar on the move and sometimes Caldera and Verite Open on a coach / bed. Is the dap still viable 2023 or are there better options for that use and at this pricepoint (sub 800 eur)? Shell I invest in amp 12 too?

Thanks in advance.
