I finally fully got what all the magic of the Monarchs is about. I was going back and forth between all my headsets with different sources today. Even tho i liked some combos better from the first listen, i was always coming back to the EXN+Monarchs 2 combo. The natuarlness of the sound doesnt only come with the timbre. It also takes a great part in presentation of the sound. IMHO it should always play outside the head. Thats how we hear sounds as they always come from the outside. This combo is the only one which creates this impression fully and always. No matter which song is played, there is never an impression of having sounds in my head. The Monarchs 2 are doing this by their nature (tuning) but a big role is played by the amp 12EXN which is very holographic and pushes the music out of my head. This was my favourite combo for a while but now, when i fully got it, its AMAZING beyond amazing.

dx320 desktop dac chips influencing the battery life, makes me hesitate to get it.

I really shouldn't consoom, when I am so happy with my dx300 amp11mki.

I can give you some information about amp 13. I asked Paul @ibasso a few questions about amp13. He also answered. The module is a pure SE. No hybrid. So PO 3.5mm and LO 3.5mm. It would have more power than amp9 and would sound very good. After the information, I decided on a new amp 12, which I will soon. send to NP Audio to get EXNs mode. It was the better choice for me. For me personally the Amp 13 is not interesting.

@Whitigir what kind of witchcraft did you do on the 12EX?

This amazing. It's on par if not better than my current desktop stack, the iFi ZEN Signature Set HFM, and this is fully portable. Gotta do more 1:1 tests. Impressive mod.

No one knows what to expect how Amp13 will be, at this moment
Like I'm definitely interested even being it SE since it has NuTube

It is a tube module but unfortunately only single ended. I have all cables on 4.4mm because of my old amp 12 which was destroyed at the mod here in Vietnam. If amp 13 was a hybrid I might have bought it. But SE no. I don't feel like experimenting with different cables again. And I'm not a fan of adapters. Also, I think the EXNs version will sound even better than the amp 13.

And i have the Oriolus BA 300 S tube amp 4.4 if i need a little tube sound. Thats ok for me.
