Crikey!! Where did you dissappear to! Really sorry! I have no idea what happened there. I'm adding you now to the owners listing with sincere apologies. All the best to you!
Hi dear @zen87192!
For some reason I'm not listed on the owners list. Would you be so kind to add me again? :)
Thanks

Hi guys, if anybody wants to avail yourselves for your Max of a 256GB Micron SD card in excellent condition, please check my classifieds. Thanks.
Just want to also add from my side. Get the Micron SD card if you own 3MAX SS.
It is really worth paying more.
Compared my three 1TB cards and would give this rating

(rating 1..10 according to the ones I have and know)
  • Sandisk Ultra Plus (1 for lowest)
  • PNY Pro Elite (7 for closer to micron)
  • Micron (10 best so far)
Checked with 3Max SS and M8 / VE EXT and VE Elysium

I am glad you are loving it! It is worth every Pennies , especially when considering the pricing of the upgraded cables and other stuff.

The 400 is mine for a while now, the list was updated them returned to the first form
Yes…. apologies…. something went wrong with my cut and paste by the looks of things. If I remember correctly, back then I had issues trying to copy the list to another page, so I chose the one I could find that worked and manually updated it. Oversights galore and I thought I’d checked it properly…. but alas a couple were missing and even adding them did not update successfully by the looks of things. But…. I think I’ve got it pretty precise now…. I bloody hope! My bad…. using a mobile phone to do this is also a nightmare as the format is different to a PC.. 😤 If anyone out there needs adding or updating please do not hesitate to contact me. Happy listening everyone! 🎧

Wait wait. I'm a bit confused. So the difference, this 'richer in sound' of the SS over the Ti -- is it caused by the SD card or not?
No, the richness is all the SS sound.
Probably those rare electrolytics caps on the Audio board.
On comparison The Ti has less using different and also slimmer ones on the side.

SS with Normal SD Card = Great sound but very warm.
SS with Micron Industrial SD Cards = Brilliant sound and sharper trebles. IDEAL.
TI with Normal SD = Fabulous and has a 'sparkling' sound. Lovely soundstage.
Ti with Micron Industrial SD Card = Fabulous but maybe a bit too 'sparkly'.
No, the TI also sounded amazing and seemed to have a touch more clarity when using the better card. Yet it did not have that SS sound, which is like a euphoric flavor.

The constant between the two units is only that issue. The slight richness of the SS actually made it more euphoric, if that were possible. Slightly Thicker with same sweetness when using that better SD card. Overall the comparison was just an amazing eye-opener. The SD may have added more liveliness & realism to it, but it wasn't like it added trebles. They both had same amount on comparison. It was only the TI transparency (lack of SS sound) that may have made the trebles sound different, but the Frequency response was pushing same output on comparison.

I am using a Micron card in a 3MTi. On the Neutron player, must say that I did not experience any over 'sparkliness' nor did I feel that it sounded lean or not 'rich in sound
The SS has a richer sound.
The Ti has a more transparent sound.
That's it.
The better card (a Sandisk extreme Pro) made the player more alive. It just sounded more alive and real...
Less DULL . Cheapo cards sound more one-dimensional and lifeless.
That's the difference. You won't notice until you compare.

Edit**
Remember to put everything in perspective. The SS is more transparent than my 220Max before.
It is a wonderful clear sounding and more holographic in general. Probably
Saying thicker is not a good description. More like a slight added richness.
These differences are not large.
Anyways, thats how I "see" it.
Not easy to describe and everyone hears differently 🙂

Max ti

Thanks

I have placed my personal findings earlier in this thread but, as always, it is a very personal preference. For the SS I would use the Micron Industrial SD Card. For the Ti I would use the Sandisk Extreme Pro. No doubt owners are entitled to chime in saying something different but you need to listen for yourself as it is a very personal choice based on your personal hearing, the headphones/IEM's you listen through and the music you listen to. Then comes how you listen to your music through the DAP by way of Pure Android/ Neutron or whichever internal or external platform. In addition, comes the 'hours of operation' your DAP has had since you received it as it may need a period of 'burning/breaking in'. Lots of variables that need to be considered before arriving at your own personal destination of 'Audio nirvana' 😀

Awesome collection! Are the IEMs on each DAP the favorite pairing for you? Or more for color scheme? :beerchug:
