No, the richness is all the SS sound.
Probably those rare electrolytics caps on the Audio board.
On comparison The Ti has less using different and also slimmer ones on the side.
No, the TI also sounded amazing and seemed to have a touch more clarity when using the better card. Yet it did not have that SS sound, which is like a euphoric flavor.
The constant between the two units is only that issue. The slight richness of the SS actually made it more euphoric, if that were possible. Slightly Thicker with same sweetness when using that better SD card. Overall the comparison was just an amazing eye-opener. The SD may have added more liveliness & realism to it, but it wasn't like it added trebles. They both had same amount on comparison. It was only the TI transparency (lack of SS sound) that may have made the trebles sound different, but the Frequency response was pushing same output on comparison.
The SS has a richer sound.
The Ti has a more transparent sound.
That's it.
The better card (a Sandisk extreme Pro) made the player more alive. It just sounded more alive and real...
Less DULL . Cheapo cards sound more one-dimensional and lifeless.
That's the difference. You won't notice until you compare.
Edit**
Remember to put everything in perspective. The SS is more transparent than my 220Max before.
It is a wonderful clear sounding and more holographic in general. Probably
Saying thicker is not a good description. More like a slight added richness.
These differences are not large.
Anyways, thats how I "see" it.
Not easy to describe and everyone hears differently
