Can a lucky owner of the 300 MAX confirm that it is possible to play Tidal MQA files in full decoding (8x) on the 300 MAX like the regular DX 300?

Thanks.

Playing the same Tidal master, new Tiesto track, DX300 (352.8kHz) vs DX300 MAX (705.6kHz), look in Notification bar. That tells me DX300 MQA 8x while DX300 MQA 16x (getting 705.6kHz playing the same track on R8 which supports MQA 16x).

Any current DX300 Max owners happen to have a ZMF can to test it out with?

A screen protector for the DX300MAX made of glass decreases the touch sensitivity and does not work well. We provide thin film plastic for this screen. We use a very high quality Sharp screen.

Regarding power, please remember we are using direct battery power/current. There are no step up components used, which are commonly used. With a direct voltage and current, a higher level of sound quality can be obtained, which is one very important reason we use it in the DX300MAX.

As screen protector most of the time, (not glass though) I either use the Brotector brand (matte) or cut out a piece from a slightly thicker matte iPad protector film. Unfortunately the films provided by all DAP manufacturers are fingerprint magnets.

I didn't have any sensitivity problems (for example, with DX300 or DX220MAX) until now.

Anyone experiencing crackling or static pops within music tracks?

False alarm. A quick reset of the unit and reconnect to the wi-fi has sorted it out. Seems to be an issue with my Internet connection on that occasion. Phew!

To be honest... the MAX300 doesn't need the C9. It is very capable on its own and somewhat warmer with exactly the right amount of treble and detail. Bass is thunderous without any booming. Soundstage is massive. Very powerful sounds coming out of this unit. Just as well... MAX300 + C9 = Trolley required.

Look forward to trying my Max with D8000 Pro and Diana V2 soon. :)

Do you think the C9 has greater driving power on its own vs the 300 Max? Would make sense since the former is a dedicated amp but still curious :)

I experienced this, especially use the low resistance IEM like my Westone W80. Need to switch off all WiFi and Bluetooth to resolve the issue, or switch to mango OS.
This will be corrected in the next firmware for the DX300MAX.
