Rabbit hole

if you want to compare your micro sd cards for better or worse

use the internal memory as a base

add a couple of songs to the internal memory and swap back and forth between the same song on internal and sd card.

more practical perhaps than switching and scanning micro sd cards perhaps

โ€ฆthings must be going well with the DX300 Max as a dap if we are going down the โ€˜do micro sd cards make a differenceโ€™ road to hellโ€ฆ
Now, on the next subject ๐Ÿ™ƒ

I imagine it's always better to use the lower unity gain if you can? Though with the multiple amp batteries implementation, jumping a gain should have less compromises shouldn't it?

โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”

question:

what dac volume and gain are people using?

i am at 80 dac and low gain for IEMs

but am considering 100 dac and mid gainโ€ฆ

Wifi signals by itself doesnโ€™t, but theoretically the router itself most definitely will. The reasons is that โ€œerrorsโ€ is the โ€œenemyโ€ of digital transmissions and it quality.

Not only router that can effect audio quality, but also the gaming community know it. Especially for highly time sensitive games like FPS and so on.

Voltage fluctuations is โ€œerrorsโ€ and interferes, timing jitters, noises are all โ€œerrorsโ€.

Not too long ago, someone already said that he had the experiences with bad clicking noises over wifi streaming and so on with Dx220Max, in the end it was his routers.

Anyways, I can careless about all of this as it is no use to me. So, I will let others chime in

Early days

internal vs Micron - the Micron wins for me.
More dynamic, micro detailing, better texture, quality bass and articulate highs.
Internal seems a bit more flat and centered (centrered then the sound at the edges, not as much โ€˜bridging) the Micron vocals kind of flutter out from the center to the edges, extends.
Bass reaches deeper.

Certainly more noticeable as one goes up to higher res files for sure (i have not tried dsd yet).

Both are neutral signature.
Both are good. But to my ears the Micron offers more.

i have not done internal memory versus Sandisk Extreme pro yet.
- i have a guesstimate. But best to listen/test.

I think DAC volume is worth discussing. To me, DAC=100 seems slightly over-driven, 90 seems best sound quality-wise, drop below 75 and it seems you start to lose headroom and dynamics. For my IEM (Traillii), I'm down at 75 and always border channel imbalance with analog volume (gain low). With my HD800, I can stay at DAC=90 and mid/high gain and all is good.

Korea has four Ti, and at least I know, there are four people who have SS but not know the serial number. I have one Ti (one of four)

That's fabulous! When owners confirm their User names and let me know their unique model numbers that appear on their owners card that comes with the MAX300 SS/Ti I will be very happy to add them to the owners listing. Let me know your model number zxcvy19 when you receive your Ti. ๐ŸŽง
