I ordered one like this one. It's an ungrounded Sony cable and he's making an ungrounded dual female 3pin to male 3 pin for it.
I just have to wait.

I will sale at a loss to recoup some of my funds... I just went crazy since playing the Max through my desktop as it sounds sooooo freakin good!
I figured I'd get more on the backend if I changed the connection, but oh well.
I will contact the manufacturer to see what he recommends and report back to you.

Thanks Whitigir!!!!

You are welcome. If you want to use MAX line out, look for Balanced in and out Amplifier. Don’t go for integrated DAC/Amp combo. Usually they are very sloppy in designing a sophisticated input for analog in. The amp I can recommend for Headphones as a desktop means would be GSX MkII or MKI or Mini GSX. Welcome to the game, sorry about your wallet, and enjoy the ride

I heard the DX300 also has separate DAC/AMP batteries like the Max but this time they are charged via a single Type-C port.

But yeah, will probably hold on to my Max until the next Max comes out.

Do find it quiet strange why 1 battery is charged via type c and other one via a laptop style plug?...
Could of done 2 different type c connection instead....

Good they finally made it single type c to charge both now few.

Yes they could have but that DC port is charged via a 18V charger. There isn’t a direct 18V option supplied via USB PD delivery. Though we later found out the DC plug can also be charged using 12 to 18V chargers. This meant using certain Type C to DC cables is now feasible since 12V and 15V are supported with USB PD. These cables are still tricky, need to make sure they “trick” the Type C chargers to output 12 or 15V.

No problem.

using this set up

iBasso 4.4mm to 3.5mm cable

then a female to female 3.5mm adapter

then the 3.5mm to RCA

as I understand it, going via Line out will make use of the Max dac
- and not use it solely as a digital transport.

@Whitigir can correct me here if needed :)
