I use hiby music app to control music from smartphone. That's easy enough for me.
hmm - i went through many remote apps today (iOS) trying to find one that worked.(No luck)

Does the Hiby app require me to use the Hiby player on the Max?
(Probably)

and are there any significant sound signature changes between iBasso Mango and Hiby app if so.

thank you in advance.

Yes it needs to be Hiby App in both DX and smartphone (android in my case). I don't think I hear any sound sig change.

@Paul - iBasso, is there MQA support for Mango OS? I can see MQA in the Android Mango Player but not the OS player.

thanks - i will give it a look.
Much appreciated.

my library is small and fairly well curated - so not much skipping when shuffling

but it would be nice at times

@twister6 @Whitigir any thoughts on hibyplayer versus Mango android?

- mainly just 16/41 for shuffle times

We recently tried to measure the maximum power , and maximum AC voltage that 220 MAX can produce, In the range of popular resistances from 8 to 40 Ohm.
It turned out that the maximum AC voltage level on the Phone out was 1.47 volts, and on the balanced output 2.84 volts / 40 ohm.
The question , how exactly were the voltage values of 8 volts obtained? This is much more than 3 volts that we get even without load... Perhaps there are some limits or software level settings? How do we get the loudness limits correctly?

Unfortunately I am a huge fan of MangoOS first. Then secondary the Neutron player. I have yet to bother with others for a while

IBasso DX220 Max Remote Using Hibymusic App

Thanks to Head-fier @artpiggo for PM’ing me and helping me get it working.

The iBasso DX220 Max does not have any physical buttons.
Some have found other physical remotes work (especially after the recent update).

Such as the Satechii:

And a few other similar ones (good for driving cars safely etc).

Many of us might be browsing our phones on a commute etc and via phone is useful.

EDIT: i do not know if this first effort by me was done over bluetooth or my homes wifi...ugh.

Enter the Hibymusic app.
(I don’t know any music playback quality versus stock iBasso Android Mango OS).

Directions:

p84xTejI_OXoGboBVCukgBrFG_Gl4WPJSWSj1Z9bC2bUV7ewIp5T37Y_tPyQ_jI

“DX220 MAX open BT.
Open the HibyMusic app and set it as hiby link server.
(NOT Hibylink client).

Open phone in the Hibymusic app
-and set it as hiby link client.
Open Bluetooth and click to pair with DX220MAX.” - Artpiggo

NOTE: for several tries i had not luck with the DX220 Max showing up on my iphone.
- i then paired the FiiO BTR3K to open a pathway so to speak and then the iBasso DX220 Max connected.

BOOM! A remote for the DX220 Max.

NOTE: it can be hit or miss depending on your mobile device for connecting. I had some difficulties (hit and miss for me using iphone SE) - others were ok.

Give it a try :)

Updated:

Ok. I tried a few more things today. I tried the FiiO app without success.

Back to the Hibymusic app.

I had trouble linking over Bluetooth which i require for in the go and commuting if i take the Max.

My music is fairly tightly curated so not much fast forwarding needed generally.

Paired with the iphone. Bluetooth and wifi.

Used as a fast forward/ play and pause/ rewind remote.

Iphone SE above and Max below.

Question: @artpiggo were you able to get it working purely over bluetooth only?
